The grounds are simply amazing with the ability to walk miles and partake in a multitude of activities for all interests. Very beautiful and friendly staff.

Fabulous property…. Everything top notch. Plenty of activities on the property from bike riding, golf, trap shooting, falconry, etc.. We stayed in Ashford Lodge which was just fine… you need a dinner / lunch reservation to get into the castle.

Rooms are on the level of Holiday Inn - basic with an uncomfortable bed and cramped shower. Transfer from Castle: luggage didn’t arrive until bedtime. Dinner staff was amazing and food was delicious and generous. Pool is great - went early am and it was sparkling clean, huge with places to read a book on a cold rainy day. All amenities in the ladies bathroom except a comb…

The staff at the castle were exceptional. They went over and above to make sure they provided a wonderful stay for our family. The lodge rooms were superb, the grounds were gorgeous, and the dog walk was so fun! I cannot emphasize enough gratitude towards the staff. Thank you tor everything.

Top notch!

We had a fabulous stay for a special occasion. The front facing suite with balcony was blissful in the beautiful April sunshine. All staff were excellent! They were so helpful and courteous. I would not hesitate to return and certainly hope that one day I will be able to.

Great food at hotrl

This hotel was everything I expected, but the grounds were the best part for me. Walked over to the pro shop and rented clubs (sleeve of balls and tees included) and played 9 holes despite a little rain. High tea at the castle was incredible. Staff was great without being pushy.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Wildes Restaurant was very enjoyable for breakfast and dinner. Just a couple of criticism, the breakfast order of eggs benedict was served on toasted sour dough which was very difficult to cut through and chew and spoiled the enjoyment of it. I believe that traditional English muffins are a better choice to serve eggs benedict on. Although the rack of lamb was beautifully cooked it still required a steak knife to cut it , but this was not provided. Disappointed with our lunch in the bar area. Beef fat chips were horrible, the fish batter and fish was overcooked. Found the very noisy pipe hammer in our bedroom every morning between 5 a.m and 6 a.m. to be very alarming and annoying. The bar dining area furniture was looking tired and not very clean.
