Room was nice, comfy bed just what I need for a one night stay. Breakfast let it down, I arrived just before 8am an all tables still had dirty dishes on, juices had ran out no offer of bread or toast no sauces an hostess non existent to ask. Food was dried out been kept warm to long. Dirty cutlery an dishes still not cleared when I left.

When we arrived by taxi we found the lobby adorably decorated for the season. We both said it was very cute. The location was perfect for us as we were visiting family and they were just an easy 5 minute walk. The room was comfy and everything we needed, except for wash clothes which don't seem to be a thing in Europe, but we had brought our own. Be aware there is no lift and our room was on the 2nd floor. So if you can't handle steps request a 1st floor room. We arrived several hours early. They told us they would find a room for us as soon as their cleaning staff could provide one. In the mean time we could wait in the lobby or check our bags and walk into town. We did the later and enjoyed the 10 minute walk into the little stretch of shops and restaurants. The hotel breakfast was typical Scottish foods, which meant the only bread choices were white or brown toast bread and potato scones. There was some cereal, fresh fruit and yogurt every day, along with a menu choice of traditional Scottish, vegetarian, and gluten free options. These included scrambled eggs, sausages (including vegan). Only bread options were white or brown toast and potato scones. I would have liked some rolls or other bread selection but that doesn't seem to be a thing in Scotland. We had a couple meals at the hotel restaurant and the food and service were very good. We also walked into town to eat a couple nights as well. My wife and I will definitely stay here again when we return to visit.

The staff at check in were very friendly and helpful, our room was spotless and very comfortable. The room was nice and warm but there was also a fan for those who get too hot. Overall a lovely stay!

Stopped on the way too and from Edinburgh Airport over a 2 week period. Two different rooms both excellent. Very clean. Hreat breakfast and friendly staff. Ideal for staying near Edinburgh with Airport about 20 minutes away and park and ride/tram station. I travel for work and plan to keep using this gem.

Ordered a birthday cake in advance. Reminded about the cake during check in and requested to prepare the chocolate cake ready by midnight, and they promised that it is ready. At midnight when asked , they said it is "missing ". However they arranged a small lemon sponge cake ( from tesco ) after waiting for 2 hrs.

Stay in general was good. Comfortable bed. The down side mainly being the noise from the corridors. Some other guest not being very careful or courteous. The cleaning staff sounded like they were right outside the door having a 20 minutes chat about their weekend at 9am which was annoying too.

We had a late arrival and the reception staff were great and very helpful. They chatted for a few minutes while we checked in which was good as some places they ignore you and dont make conversation. The room was very clean and tidy and the bed was soooo comfortable.
