We very much enjoyed our 2 night stay at El Santuario! The location is breathtaking. We went Monday through Wednesday, so the resort itself was pretty empty. We felt like we had the whole place to ourselves! The room was clean, the view was gorgeous, and the bed was comfortable. We went to the Spa and felt total bliss. It was magical. For any non-Spanish speaking travelers who come here, it's important to know some basic Spanish because we only interacted with a few staff that spoke English. Overall, we would highly recommend El Santuario to anyone who is looking for a serene spot to relax and reset. Valle de Bravo, Mexico is a gorgeous area and while we didn't leave the resort, we would have absolutely loved to explore the little lake town.

El Santuario es una excelente opción para quien busca un ambiente relajado, de paz y armonía. Las habitaciones del lago son hermosas, tienen una vista espectacular y son totalmente nuevas. La comida en los dos restaurantes es deliciosa, todo lo que probamos nos encantó. La atención de todo el personal es sobresaliente, todos muy atentos y siempre dispuestos a ayudarte. Tienen actividades guiadas como meditaciones y clase de yoga. Mi único pero es que la temperatura de las albercas es templada y para el clima de Valle siento que si le hace falta un poco más de calor, igual en la regadera, cuando nos bañamos la primera vez no había agua caliente. Sin duda regresaré en una estancia más larga.

Little sad that I didn't get a promised room upgrade through Expedia or my welcome amenity. Also a little sad the food wasn't as good expected and the spa wasnt working.

In short stay away. The property needs ALOT of maintenance. The pool tiles are coming undone and the water was filled with bugs. Additionally there is NO AIR CONDITIONING in any of the rooms. With temperatures reaching 100 degrees and excessive humidity it’s almost criminal to not have AC. The rooms are unbearable to sleep in at night. The food was mediocre and due to a conference on site we were treated like second class citizens. One of the restaurants was closed and when I asked to speak to a manager about the room we were given they never followed up with us. Overall very very disappointed with the hotel, property, and rooms. As gold members we weren’t given the upgrade, weren’t given late check out, and had to beg for a 20% discount which was included in our package. Wouldn’t recommend and wish they would have just canceled my reservation if they were too busy with a conference that weekend.

The new rooms don't have the best view but are in excellent condition. The Old rooms, which are the most expensive, are extremely hot. I would return to the new section because the hotel has many other communal area views. The service is excellent. The Spa has great therapists. The food is good and offers healthy options.

Pools were old and dirty. Very noisy hotel and they don't have Air Conditioning. inconvenient location. Room service food was horrible. Do not recommend it at all. Staff did what they could but to no avail. Great massage! Not worth the price.

La vista es espectacular, el servicio de primera. Falta un poco de mantenimiento en las albercas. En general todo súper bien.
