What a neat place to stay. There was a great vibe in the bar with a mixture of locals and tourists. We had a delicious meal in the restaurant. We love that they have kept the heritage of the buildings inside & out which adds to the atmosphere. We stayed in the Gemtle Annie room which made for a lovely overnight. Will be back!

Beautiful clean and wonderfully decorated hotel and gardens. Only one small complaint, no one was at check in desk whe we arrived so had to hunt someone down for check in.

Very clean and quiet. Great place to stay. The only problem was checkout. You had to checkout at the main bar. There was a que of about 20 people ordering food and also checking out. After waiting for 20 minutes there was still about 15 people in

Beautiful room with outlook over beer garden (gorgeous garden 💐). Very comfortable and clean.

A beautifull little gem

Been on my bucket list to stay in this iconic beauty for years - only blemish on our stay was our over cooked blue cod, which is my own fault for not sending it back Look forward to returning

The stay was ok but it would be ideal to put at least a small bar fridge in the rooms, especially for those with familys, also in our room there was a tv inside a cabinet, once you open the doors for the kids to watch tv you almost knock yourself out coming out of the bathroom, i dont reccomend this hotel for familys but would be fine for a solo traveler or couple

The property was charming.

We travelled NZ for 3 weeks and this was by far our favourite stay. Honestly, we could not fault it. From the cozy, homey room, to the beautiful garden outside - everything was so lovely. We booked it on a whim and didn’t have any expectations, but we will be booking here each time we come back.

Amazing stop with a fantastic dinner in a countryside boutique hotel. Simply loved it! The staff were very helpful and kind to us. And to top it up we had free fresh milk in the morning to enjoy with our breakfast in the room.

Beautiful historic & excellent food

Beautiful hotel, wonderful oasis of old world charm.

Very spacious and nicely decorated room with lovely cottage gardens. Very comfortable bed and great radiator heating in the bedroom and bathroom. Given the historical nature of the building it is in very good condition. The only issue I found was the lack of sound insulation between the rooms but appreciate it be hard to fix this however getting woken in the middle of the night with guests next door talking wasn’t great. I however know which rooms to book in future to avoid this issue. Definitely would stay again!

Cadrona is a beautiful, unique propty. I highly recommend it for travellers.
