A great little hotel to explore Bergamo from - excellent choice & ticked all my boxes! Staff were lovely & gave me a quiet room, as requested. Location is good, 15 minutes on foot from train & bus stations and same to the centre of the lower city. I bought a 24 hour city transit pass (that also takes you to & from the airport - unheard of in many countries) to get up to the beautiful Citta Alta. It costs €4.90 & includes the 2 funiculars, a great bargain, particularly in 38C when climbing the hills loses its appeal. The breakfast is excellent and the rooms, more traditional in design and not brand new but well maintained, are cozy and comfortable. Definitely return!!

Better than expected, good staff, a bit worn in many places but still very servicable - probably quite plush in an earlier time. Brilliant breakfast makes it a winner.

The receptionist at night was pretty rude. Due to me not willing to leave my passport and come back after some time to pick it up, so he can check me in. I understand it is a normal practice, but due to my personal circumstances I can never leave my passport unattended. He didn’t consider my wish, so I had to persuade him to make it now. Secondly, after I dropped my bags at midnight I went for a walk with my friend. I have notified him that i will be back. When I came back at 2 am, we rang the door and he opened the door. He was stating that our behavior is unnaceptable due to coming that late. His vibe felt pretty passive agressive. I believe he was asleep and I woke him up in a bad mood. Even though check in time is until 2:30 am. I apologized but looked like he wasn’t willing to accept it. Which was quite frustrating. Apart from this situation everything else was great and worth the money.

Big spacious room, friendly staff and great amenities

I've stayed several times before: it's a big hotel but with character. It's vintage 1970s (I should say):dated but well-kept, and full of references to Garibaldi. The name relates to the 'Thousand' who set out with the General to unify Italy in the 19th Century (Bergamo claims that they came from there). There are restaurants 15 minutes walk away. The breakfast - included - is good and very varied, and the staff are friendly. And it has its own free car-park: I've used it in the past. 24-hour reception has been a life-saver for me: one time my flight was badly delayed and I had to walk from the airport (it took me an hour), arriving at 2 am. I got in with no trouble, and collapsed in my bath (yes, the rooms have small baths!) For the price, it's astonishing value.

The staff were amazing easy to check in specially if u speak English I came to visit Milan and Rome and stayed in this hotel in bergamo for a night amazing 100% I would recommend it

Clean Room, Quiet, Nice Atmosphere

We found some hair in the bed linen, but in general was ok. The hotel is not new, but is great for the price. The staff was great and very helpful.

This is a difficult question as it wasn't excellent but its bad either id say it was pleasant staffing mainly helpful one a little bit lacking in patience as I've some difficulties im remember information...i would stay herr again but the price is top end not really justified but i accept cost of living is at tough times for everyone...i would of preferred the Christmas tree and decorations been put away but they were still up on 10th January. Coffees could be better and my room didn't have tea or coffee facilities that for me is important although you can get from reception but it could be included in room price its a basic need especially after arrival of a long tiring day i would like that included but i was greatful for breakfast being included thats great

The hotel is located close to the train station, which is great. The staff were great and friendly. But the room was stinking of a cigarette smoke although smoking was prohibited. The shower in the room was broken. Hot water was coming through bath tap only, the shower head had low pressure for cold water and no hot water at all. The issue has been reported to the reception, hopefully it was fixed. The room number was 666, just in case.

The hotel and room was very clean and the breakfast was extremely varied to suit all tastes and nationalities. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly and answered any questions we had. Well worth the money!

Great hotel, convenient and relaxing.

Great hotel. I really enjoyed my stay at Citta Dei. Breakfast was a plus, with many options. Staff was very kind and helpful. The mattress was very comfortable. It is a little bit far from Citta Alta, but it was close to bus 1, that takes you there. I really enjoyed the breakfast!!!

Good location for the train station and lower city, on bus route and nearby supermarket. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast selection. Clean and comfortable.
