We stayed at Hotel Deutsche Eiche during our visit to Munich. Upon arrival, we learned that it is a well-known LGBTQ+-friendly hotel that also operates a historic men’s sauna. This did not affect our opinion of the hotel itself. However, we believe booking websites should more clearly explain that the spa facilities are exclusively for men. The hotel listings simply mention a spa, which could lead some guests to assume it is available to everyone. Parking was by far the most challenging aspect of our stay. The street in front of the hotel is extremely narrow and functions as a two-way road, making it difficult to unload luggage safely. Although we had reserved a paid parking space in advance, it was approximately a quarter-mile from the hotel. We wish the hotel had informed us beforehand that there is a temporary unloading area in front of the property. Traveling with four large suitcases, we briefly parked across the street to unload, which unfortunately obstructed pedestrians and created a stressful situation. Our room on the fourth floor was spacious and clean, although somewhat dated. Guests should note that the elevator does not provide direct access to every floor, so luggage must still be carried up or down a short flight of stairs. The hotel welcomed us with two glasses of champagne and complimentary drink vouchers for the rooftop bar, which was a thoughtful touch. The hotel is amazing as are all the staff that work there. We had zero issues whilst staying at the hotel. The rooms are kept very tidy and cleaned to perfection. The overall tidiness of the hotel is also incredible, absolutely spotless. The rooftop terrace has some amazing views which can be paired with a cold beverage on a hot summers day with the staff on hand to check on you and promptly take empties away. The hotel is situated rather close to lot of top restaurants and shops and even the local market so you feel like you're in the heart of the city. I would highly recommend this hotel to travellers of all backgrounds as you are well looked after at this hotel.

The hotel location is very good. The room we stayed had a bad air conditioner and the floor smells like peed on with fruit flies.

Clean and spacious room, friendly staffs, lots of foodies nearby, very near to a tram station and to Edeka market 👍👌. Free minibar beverage supply and replenished daily (beer water, coke, etc and aperitif coupons usable for their resto and rooftop bar. Recognizes Expedia VIP status with an higher tier aperitif coupon 😊 Would highly recommend this hotel 👍👌

I have just completed my stay at Deutsche Eiche and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is in a fantastic location, with easy access to everything Munich has to offer. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help, making me feel comfortable throughout my stay. My room was clean, well-maintained, and provided everything I needed for a relaxing visit. The atmosphere throughout the hotel was warm and inviting, and I particularly appreciated the attention to detail and excellent service. My only criticism would be that the air conditioning in our room, despite being set to 16C, wasn’t effective and the hotel had to supply an additional fan to help with the heat in the room. As we were there during a heatwave, air conditioning was essential. Overall, I would happily recommend Deutsche Eiche and would not hesitate to stay there again on a future visit to Munich.

Nice small hotel right by the outdoor market. Nice rooms, good breakfast, great roof top bar.

This is an out in the open gay friendly hotel and the vibe is male gay hook up culture. This could be seen from the start with the front desk also being the check in for a male only spa. The posters are all about gay events and Freddie Mercury references. This was therefore not the place for me. However, this is also a well run hotel with lovely rooms, friendly staff and a good breakfast.

Great location, liked the room, loved the free water and beer in the fridge. The air conditioner in our room didn't do much. It ran the whole time but never got any cooler. I asked the desk to look at it, not sure if they did. It never got any better. We were only in the room at night, so didn't follow up on it. Opened the balcony window at night.

Wonderful location. We were on the 5th and the roof top bar was a bit loud. Room was clean and had lots of room! Staff was helpful with luggage storage and parking

The Hotel Deutsche Eiche was really great and convenient to everything we wanted to see. The staff were great and helped us with everything we needed from where to park our car to storing our luggage for a few hours after we checked out. The whole stay was great!!

Hotel was in great location, room was spacious and clean. Parking was difficult though with about a 5-6 minute walk to the garage and the garage does not open to retrieve vehicle until 0700, making it a problem with an early flight.

Excellent stay! All the staff are friendly, helped without hesitation answer questions I had (first time in Munich), and always met with smiles even when they were busy. One of the best hotel experiences I’ve had. Clean room, clean mattresses, complimentary items, central location to everything, delicious food (which I gave compliments at the time!) and more. I would definitely stay again!

Great location with close proximity to major attractions. Clean room. Quaint hotel. Staff in restaurant were rude, gave poor service & brought us warm beer.
