This is a lovely hotel located a 2 minute walk next to the local market area. You can also see the iconic red bridge that overlooks the beautiful gorge if you walk another 7-10 minutes. We didn't eat dinner here but we ate breakfast and it was very delicious and well presented. The lobby is spacious with beautiful views and there is free coffee. Our room for 4 was large with big windows, a good sized beverage fridge, a separate shower and heated toilet and large sink area. The staff were very friendly. However, please be mindful that there is only wifi in the lobby area. Your room will not connect to it unfortunately. The hotel is very clean but the carpets are quite worn. Oigami town is really beautiful during autumn and if you're here be sure to visit Fukiware falls a short drive away.

The staff were friendly and the foyer area was quite nice, but the standard price rooms in the main honkan building were pretty basic. At night, our room 416 had a vibrating whirring noise. We turned the fridge and the air con. off but the noise continued. We called the staff and they moved us to a new room which looked the same but was quiet. The hot spring was nice enough and the outdoor rotenburo was at a comfortable temperature. Didn't eat there because it was buffet style and I'm pretty sure it would be difficult to find anything vegan. In the newer more expensive wing, the rooms look much nicer and I think there's wifi. We just needed a place to stop over after hiking so it was good enough for our needs.

The place is really really nice I’ll post another pic with the fool later when it’s served. The only downside is the pic on the hotel website looked like the private suite had a decent size onsen water tub. But in actuality it was approx 3 1/2 by4 feet with a 1 by 4 foot step in the tub. So to my surprise it was small. It was booked for me and my wife. Small for both of us to enjoy it together. The rooms are amazing however we came here to enjoy the onsen together. I’ll post some more pics of the rooms soon.

I think they don’t really welcome foreigners. I’ve been to lots of onsen ryokans and almost all of them were pretty nice that has good service and food. This one, I think they are a bit pricey for the quality of food, service and onsen. FOOD- was pretty normal, basically a pot with pork and vegetables as main (very normal) sashimi were fresh and nice, but the other dishes weren’t up to standard. You get white rice at last, plain rice. SERVICE- was pretty bad I would say, I feel like we weren’t really welcome because we were foreigners. I understand Japanese culture because I live in Tokyo, but I really feel that I’m not respected this time. YUKATA- when I book this ryokan on Jalan, many said that they were happy because they let you choose from different yukata designs. But unfortunately we haven’t been provided the information as to how to retrieve them, and that is free or not, or any other information. This I’m just disappointed. ONSEN - normal onsen, old facilities, blow dryer etc STAFF- dinner staff: rude, front desk also rude, didn’t tell us about WiFi, and when we asked, it didn’t work, so we go back and one of the staff just said it only works in some places in the hotel, without saying sorry or giving me other solutions. WiFi- don’t expect for good WiFi. Not sure if they treat all guests like this, my case only, or all foreigners. Just my own opinion, I wouldn’t visit again.

The staff were pretty rude to us, no explanation to mostly everything: wifi, yukata, room, dinner. Wifi is slow Normal food and normal onsen with old facilities, rubbish in onsen, the shower area.
