Good: clean, modern, cool rooms/patios, good service, easy walk to a small strip of good shops and restaurants. Bad: I thought I might like the architecture, but ultimately was just a little too strange. Also, the main dinner/bar area was rented out for an event, so that wasn’t great since we had planned to go there. Our particular unit was in a corner and one of the only units with a pretty bad angle to the water. They were not willing to move us unless we wanted to pay an additional 250/night, which wasn’t cool since they had space available. But the biggest annoyance is how difficult and bizarre it is to get down to the gym and beach. Probably takes 10min? just to get down to the beach. Considering this is a beachfront property, that concept just doesn’t make any sense

The design of this hotel was absolutely unique to other luxury hotels we’ve stayed in. Using water features instead of landscaping made the whole stay feel more unique, and the first floor suite was gorgeous. All the employees were friendly and super attentive and helpful, and the personal concierge service was excellent and quickly responsive. Only small suggestion would be to have more pool chairs available, but it’s really a gorgeous property and a great stay.

The room was spacious and clean. It was well stocked and we didn’t need much. The resort is beautiful. The food is solid, overpriced for what you’re getting, but there are a lot of good restaurants nearby.

The staff is very friendly and makes a genuine effort to provide good service. However, for a hotel that markets itself as high-end, there is room for improvement. Certain details made our stay unnecessarily stressful, especially when traveling with a small child. I would not recommend this hotel for families with babies or toddlers. We wanted to visit the Gallery District with our two-year-old daughter, which is only a five-minute drive from the hotel. Since taxis and Ubers usually do not provide car seats, we asked our butler for help with transportation. We were told the only option was to hire the hotel’s service for $300, which felt unreasonable for such a short trip. Given the hotel’s emphasis on comfort and a stress-free experience, we expected more flexibility or a fairer solution. For the price we paid (around $2,000 for three non–all-inclusive nights), attention to detail was lacking. We also experienced repeated internet issues and eventually had to change rooms because the Chromecast was not working. Overall, the hotel is attractive and the staff is well-intentioned, but for the price, it fell short of delivering the stress-free experience we expected.

We returned to Viceroy after visiting two years ago and was greeted warmly our first morning by Rosa and Miguel who not only remembered us but also our food preferences! All the staff took great care to make sure all our needs and wants were fulfilled. The rooms and resort grounds are magnificent and provide the perfect beach getaway.

Victor/jacob team were wonderful. Kept in touch with us by text, victor came to the room to meet us. Jacob went to our room to check on the tv. They were warm and friendly and easy to talk to!! The room was very nice but needed hooks in the bathroom for towels and robes. Every staff person we interacted with was kind and helpful

The amenities were outstanding. Cleanliness, views, pools, staff, food, service all 10/10 🌟

The staff was absolutely wonderful! Esfania and Miguel were fantastic and took care of our entire crew from the moment we arrived.

Very unaccommodating considering we both got terribly ill with the flu right before arrival, not to mention highly contagious—we opted to leave the resort out of concern for everyone else's safety, and the resort would not lift a finger to help us with the circumstances. They repeatedly denied my request for a voucher (not even a refund!) to stay at the resort in a couple months, which I was willing to book on the spot. I have just booked my next Cabo vacation at the Waldorf, happily spending more money for the peace of mind that they will treat us like humans (not revenue items like Viceroy).

Amazing property with stunning architecture. Friendly staff, great amenities. Well worth the visit.
