Amazing breakfast, well worth the extra $$$. Good location for accessing town centre. Only down side is the hot water in the shower could be hotter. Highly recommend staying there.

Annie at reception was amazing. Outstanding personality. Breakfast was superb and the staff were excellent. Great location. Nice to have free convenient parking. Only things I wish they included was bottled water, conditioner and body lotion.

We stayed at the Gateway Lodge in Donegal during our travels in Ireland. The onsite parking was convenient and easily accessible. Hotel is just a short walk to town with several dinner options. We ate at The Olde Castle Bar - seafood was fantastic! Donegal castle is just a few min walk from the hotel!

This hotel is in a great location. The town of Donegal is quite lovely and very easy to walk in. I was driving throughout Ireland (over 900 miles on the trip), and this hotel was easy to find, had free parking, and was a eight minute walk from the center of the town.

Loved the location. Ample parking and an easy walk to town. Staff fabulous. Rooms very clean but basic. Breakfast great. Would stay here versus larger hotels in town.

First time in the Gateway, reception was very friendly, check in was easy. room was a good size, chairs and table meant you didn't have to lie on the bed to relax. Bathroom was well equipped. Room was hot even with radiators off. The Gateway was very handy for town centre, 4-5 min walk. The Bistro is excellent, very friendly and helpful staff and nothing was too muvh trouble. Were going to book again for our next break but fully booked at the time we would like. Definitely recommend a stay here. Well done to all the staff.

Lovely large room with spacious and clean bathroom. Easy to get to with loads of parking and quick walk into Donegal to see the castle or a local pub (The Forge is 100m away and also excellent). Would highly recommend getting the breakfast (12.5 Euro pp) as it was delicious and excellent value.

Too many events scheduled during this time. Although hotel did inform us of this, since my booking was non refundable I felt that I didn’t have much option to stay elsewhere. Had to wait for our rooms to be ready while the locals were given their rooms without any wait. Kids were running up and down the hall banging on doors. Music was playing loudly into the wee hours of the morning.
