It’s okay, not great

My room was clean and well-kept. Comfortable bed and excellent walk-in shower. Ample buffet breakfast is available for 17 Euros. The front-desk staff is helpful and friendly, and they speak English. The hotel location is convenient, just a 12-minute walk from the train station in Fulda. When a taxi is needed, the front desk makes a call and the cab appears in a few minutes.

Great location in the heart of Fulda

Great located hotel, clean room. Delux room was advertised at 35m2 but our room was smaller. View from room was of the car park and staff said that this was better than the city view which would be noisy ... pity as location to the church square is fantastic.

Fulda is a beautiful city and Platzhirsch was a perfect stay right in the middle of it all. We only stayed one night on our way to our final destination, but it was exactly what we had hoped for.

My husband and I visited Fulda as we spent the day there when we first met. We stayed at the Platzhirsch for a romantic break and it was excellent. The service, comfort, standard and location are superb and we were very pleased when our room was upgraded upon arrival. I can really recommend it.

Good location. Reasonable buffet breakfast. Only negative was that no international TV i.e. no English spoken TV

Great location right in the centre. Good for exploring the local cafes, bars and restaurants and also for the cathedral and other sights. Very close to the train station too - easily walkable. Breakfast offers a huge choice and is well worth the price. Room was very comfortable and there are free sweets at the entrance to the elevator for a sneaky sugar kick!

Reception staff ill-informed about local restaurants. They serbe some what offhand and not particularly helpful.

Great modern hotel with everything you need.

Excellent Hotel all round in a nice area. Minor draw back is that it faces a Church where the Bells ring at 7.00am, this was not a problem to me as I was on business.

Professional and friendly reception staff. We were let into our room at 12.30 which was a relief as we had our heavy motorbike gear on and were able to change. Parking onsite in the middle of the city was excellent (10 euros per night for bike). The hotel and room was very modern, clean and comfortable. Excellent for a stay in lovely Fulda. We had lunch in the Orangerie gardens (Maritim Hotel) on a sunny day and it was very special. We would stay at this hotel if in Fulda as it is great value for money and has all necessities. Thanks to the staff for a great stay.

The hotel is extremely well located in Fulda, in walking distance of the Dom, the Carolingian Michaeliskirche (a must see), and the Schloss. It is also around the corner from the Dachsbau, an excellent German restaurant with serious culinary ambitions. The exterior of the hotel is not appealing, but the rooms are nice, and the breakfast buffet was exceptional and an excellent deal. The WiFi was strong and free, but the connection to the internet was intermittent. There was no air conditioning (as is frequent in Germany). Fulda is very much worth a detour, and this hotel is a great place to stay.
