Amazing hotel. Clean, modern room, comfortable bed. Bathroom and shower lovely. The breakfast was quality and with lots of choice

The rooms are clean and well laid out. We've booked this hotel three times already and it never disappoints. Lovely, breakfast included in the price with lots on offer! Easy to get into the city by train. Hotel staff helped me with surprise birthday decorations for my partner, which was very thoughtful in the way it was decorated. Would definitely recommend!

Nice room. It's an interesting hotel. We stayed a few years ago and did feel breakfast not as exciting as it was. Pancakes not kept warm and poor selection of bread. Only one sweet item which was a pain au Chocolat which not everyone likes. Maybe some small muffins would be good. The shower leaked at sides and the big shower head needs cleaning as water not coming out properly. Also made a very loud noise. A kettle or coffee maker would be nice . Close to underground

Breakfast was great

It was cold in the room and there was no possibility to heat up. My room was in the basement floor and outside the window was a box and when it was raining it felt like someone was playing the drums next to your window, especially at night. Breakfast was good.

If I could I would give the Hotel Volksschule a 100/10 star rating. The hotel is the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed at. Each and every staff member from Dominik at the front desk to the staff at breakfast do their part to make your stay exceptional. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. This was so comforting to me, as I was traveling from the US, and am not proficient in German, yet the staff helped me out with everything I needed from navigating the metro to ordering takeout on an app. The common areas of the hotel allow for nice socialization either in the bar area or outside at the tables. It did not matter the time of day of when I needed something, there was always a staff member to provide assistance in a welcoming and charming way. I wish I could take the staff home with me as they were THAT GOOD! I highly recommend the Hotel Volksschule without reservation. Also hats off to the decor team - every detail has a purpose -quite whimsy and pleasant. You get to test your math skills on the clocks! FUN!

Clean, quiet, newly renovated and large rooms with good internet service

Beautiful building inside and out. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was a comfort room and it was very big. The bed was super comfy and a fantastic delicious breakfast. So much choice and the scrambled eggs were delicious. The subway is a few mins walk and gets you everywhere easily. We found the subway easy to get around. From the airport you need the green line (S1) and change at central to the red (U2) to the hotel. Easy! You can buy a group pass for up to 5 people for 13 euros. Hamburg is a brilliant city

A delightful boutique hotel in a very quiet neighborhood that is just a short walk to the subway so you are just minutes from anywhere in Hamburg. The architecture and design is superb and the service is exceptional. Everything about our stay was perfect.

Very pleasant hotel just outside the city. Easy to use nearby subway train. Great option if you have a car, free parking. Converted school , rooms are nice, comfortable and fairly simple. Breakfast included was very good . Bar was reasonable, no other facilities - really just a place to sleep over and a good option if you want to save the expense of a city center hotel.
