Hotel set below a stark mountain with lovely pool and rustic charm - excellent value for price just 45 minutes from Rhodes airport. We wanted to experience a small village “off the beaten track “.

The Ataviros Hotel is the only hotel in Embona and it is fantastic! For our stay it was just perfect. It is very friendly, rustic and comfortable with lovely mountain views, very good breakfast and restaurant, and a really nice pool area.

The room was big and clean, on the pool level which was great. The view to the pool and mountains is lovely, you can stay the whole day in the hotel and eat breakfast, lunch and dinner (near the pool) including a bar. Staff was very nice. The village is small, not a lot of tourists in September, and no real attractions, but staying 2 days was a pleasure (far from Rhodes town tourists..)

We loved our stay. The hotel staff were warm and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is located at the edge of the village with stunning views all around. The pool area is particularly nice and spacious with bar area for the occasional refreshing drink. The prices in the hotel are comparable with the Tavernas in the town.

Great place to be : very quite with splendid view from the swimming pool or the terrace of the room if you are at 1rst or 2nd floor. Nice breakfast.

Friendly welcome from staff - some more helpful than others. Good air conditioning. Basic room, good for value but poor cleanliness e.g. dusty cupboards. Broken furniture (bed and wardrobe handle). Very small shower with burning hot water coming out of tap below when in use. Large nice pool which was always quiet and enjoyable. Severe lack of sunbeds considering there is space for much more. Breakfast very basic and often left over food from day before. Hotel location very isolated. No public transport except bus twice daily. Would highly recommend renting a car to explore the island. Prices for food and drink seemed to be made up on the spot and varied daily. No proper bills or receipts given. Was given towel one day with pink chewing gum and large dark hair inside. Complained and towel was just replaced. Few restaurants and shops nearby as well as supermarket. Overall a good holiday for what we paid!

Simple family run hotel in the heart of the island's wine region. Lush gardens with orange, lemon, mandarin & pear trees surrounding a pool (not in use when we visited). Spectacular views and sunsets too for that G&T moment on the terrace. Big breakfast to set you up for the day, home made bread and jams, eggs, cheese and olives, toasted sandwiches and a delicious slab of chocolate cake. Tiny bathroom and the usual Greek hard mattresses but great value for money, lovely family and a chance to experience the island away from the usual seasidey bits.

La piscine est le point fort et sa vue egalement. Cependant la chambre en rez de chaussée est tres moyenne (insonorisation, terrasse sur la route, salle de bain petite, climatisation sur 1 des 2 lits....). Hotel propre et tranquille, personnel agreable.

Le gérant , fils des propriétaire a été très désagréable avec nous. Nous sommes passés par ebookers pour réserver la chambre et il était précisé que l’on paierait sur place. En arrivant il nous a dit que c’était un problème car nous n’avions pas réglé !!!! Ensuite quand nous avons voulu régler il avait uniquement une machine à carte sans contact , vu la somme impossible de payer il a fallu que l’on retire de l’argent , mais il nous a mis la pression . Nous lui avons donné le cash le jour de notre arrivée et il n’était pas content car il devait compter les billets !!! Alors qu’il y avait des billets de 50€ ce n’était pas des pièces de monnaie … bref extrêmement désagréable , pas du tout avenant , c’est la première fois que cela nous arrive en allant en Grèce …. Il devrait changer de métier

Accueil chaleureux, jardin et piscine merveilleux, mais l'hôtel a besoin d'une sérieuse rénovation, déco et sanitaires à restaurer...

Für uns das beste Hotel auf Rhodos! Kleines Familien betriebenes Hotel im Weindorf Empona von Rhodos, fernab der Touristenmassen. Wer Entspannung, gutes Essen und Wein sowie wunderschöne Landschaft sucht ist hier richtig. Wir empfehlen ein Mietwagen, um auch die Umgebung besser erkunden zu können.

Zimmer zum Pool mit Blick auf der einen Seite zum Meer und auf der anderen Seite zum Ataviros war sehr schön. Schöner Sonnenuntergang. Einfaches Frühstück, aber völlig ok. Taverne hat leckeres Essen zum Abendbrot.

Notre séjour à l'hôtel Ataviros a mal débuté et les contrariétés se sont enchainées. Nous avions réservé une chambre au RDC avec vue sur la piscine pour 3 nuits. A notre arrivée, on nous annonce qu'il y a un problème et que la chambre n'est pas disponible mais qu'elle le sera le lendemain. Pour la 1ère nuit, le gérant nous propose une autre chambre, tout à fait correcte, mais ne correspondant pas à notre réservation. Faisant part de notre étonnement qu'une réservation faite 5 mois plus tôt n'ait pas été correctement programmée, le gérant nous sort tout un discours sur des problèmes avec Hotels.com et des tentatives de fraude portées par des hackers. A défaut, nous acceptons la chambre. Le lendemain matin, on nous annonce que notre chambre est disponible. Surprise, elle ne correspond pas à un RDC sur piscine. Nous contestons et palabrons pour finalement rester dans la 1ère chambre. Mesure de représailles ou loi des séries (?), le ménage n'a pas été fait durant les 2 jours. Précision : à Rhodes, on ne jette pas le papier toilette dans la cuvette mais dans une poubelle ... ! Concernant le type de chambre, nous pouvons admettre une confusion due au manque de précision sur le site hotesls.com. Comme l'hôtel est bâti à flanc de colline, il comporte 2 RDC : 1 au niveau de l'accueil, 1 au niveau de la piscine en contrebas. On nous a bien proposé une chambre en RDC, mais au niveau de la route, pas au niveau de la piscine. Sinon, les prestations sont bonnes : belle piscine, PDJ buffet.

Bon accueil, hôtes disponibles à l’écoute. Possibilité de manger sur place. Lits très confortables. Cependant, un problème avec hôtels.com qui n’avait pas transmis la réservation !!!

I don't know exactly what it was but I didn't feel very welcome and comfortable at this place... The owners were not happy at all and you could feel the tention very well. It could be a very good place and I hope for them they find the positive vibes back to make this place a pleasant stay again...

Une très bonne adresse a recommander

En liten annorlunda hotellvistelse på Rhodos om man önskar komma bort från städerna nere vid havet. Bra läge för utflykter i närområdet och en riktigt fin liten badstrand med taverna 15 minuter från hotellet. Att hyra bil är ett måste, men vägarna är fina med lite trafik och naturen är överraskande vacker. Hotellet ligger i den lilla vinbyn Emponas och byborna är mycket stolta över sina lokala produkter. På dagarna kommer det en rad turistbussar och det bjuds på vinsmakning och lunch. På kvällarna är det betydligt lugnare och endast ett par tavernor är öppna. De sista kvällarna valde vi att äta på hotellet och det var riktigt bra. Härligt att sitta och smutta på det lokala vinet och se solen gå ner i havet. Poolen är fin och välskött och poolområdet erbjuder fin avkoppling.
