I was pleasantly surprised by the isolation (what I wanted) of the Fisherman's Village. The instructions of room access was spot on. I choose the room with a hot tub, a sauna and both were a welcome addition. Although there was some distant (across the water) light pollution, a moderate Aurora Borealis KP index still made sighting possible. That particular room had a three comfortable separate sleeping areas and a generously sized bathroom with the sauna, shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, and hairdryer. As you walk in there is a sitting area with two chairs, coffee table, small sofa, small refrigerator, and closet with hangers. The sleeping areas consisting of one bedroom on the main level (w/door to access hot tub). Within that bedroom a stairway leads up to a second sleeping area, and the third sleeping area is accessed by a stairway in the sitting area. (Yes, there are two stairways and a wall between the two upper sleeping areas.) I would HIGHLY recommend the Fisherman's Village.

Yes, the room was spotless. I hope to one day go back again and I would stay in the exact same place. It was out of the way and saw the northern lights near enough every night and had snow. I would highly recommend this place and it’s worth the money.

Very cute and clean cottage that’s only about 15 minutes from the city. The landscape is stunning and perfect for northern light views.

Brilliant stay. Perfect with separate areas. Perfect peninsula for Northern Lights. Not far from Sky Lagoon too. We had the family room with private hot tub. Thankyou so much ! Great start to the holiday !

Fisherman's Village is without a doubt the best place to stay on the western side of Iceland. The staff are really nice and come by once a day asking if you need new towels, face cloths, coffee, tea, sugar or creamer, they're also nice to talk to and great if you need advice or recommendations. Fisherman's Village also happens to be a guide hotspot as it's THE BEST place to see the aurora borealis without going much, much further out from Reykjavik. We had an absolutely amazing time here, and we will 100% be coming back. My only advice to people is that Iceland gets much darker than we from europe or the US are used to, so enjoy seeing many more stars in the night sky.

By far my favorite hotel experience ever- and I have stayed at many. The location is remote enough for peace and quiet yet easily accessible to the main city. There is even a bus not far, though we rented a car. We took the room with the private hot tub and would do it again (though no kitchenette in this unit). It was clean, there was plenty of space and staff was accessible despite not having a traditional check in desk. Can’t wait to come back.

Room was clean and was a quiet and secluded location. Refrigerator did not work but was cold enough to store items outside. Self-chexk in and out, only saw cleaning person. Close to Reykjavik
