Appalled at my last stay at the best western pontypool/new inn hotel

Lovely staff, fast food nearby. Dont be fooled by thinking its a short walk to the train station! (Google tells you to walk along a dual carriageway) the station does however have free parking. Or a 20 minute walk through an industrial estate. A convenient hotel for anyone going to concerts or events in Cardiff.

Family room sofa beds were broken advised a double but very small, and dirty. No hot water. The housekeeper was waiting to service the rooms at 9am and breakfast had finished.

Amazing staff (we saw them really go out of their way to help other guests) and decent location. Clean and fairly modern but be aware there is no air conditioning which was unfortunate since we were staying during the June 26 heatwave. We had a family room and were a little surprised that we had to put up the sofa bed ourselves and my daughter reported that this was quite uncomfortable. Only two towels (one of which was only a small hand towel) were provided by default which wasn't enough for three people so we had to go and ask for more.

No air con

Room won’t be serviced unless a notice is hug outside the door before 8:30 in the morning. Even so housekeeping didn’t service the room when the notice was hung.

Staff were lovely and welcoming, friendly and helpful, room was clean and hotel in great location for fast food outlets and canal walks

Nice and quiet hotel close to town. Good parking space and electric car charging points ( we did not use them, but in case you need it, there are 2 if I remember correctly ). Really lovely lady at reception. Staff very helpful. Rooms are decent size. Quiet. Bed very comfortable. Carpets need hoovering, but other than that the room was nice. Breakfast area was comfortable and clean and there was choice between hot and cold options. I have struggled a bit with the breakfast, as I am not a fan of processed food, however my partner enjoyed it. I guess it's a matter of preference and I am fussy lol, so do not let this put you off. You will not be hungry :-) We will be coming back to stay here.

One of times I booked the mirror and surfaces was dirty like the cleaner was dirty. Also me and my partner got banned without a reason and when we booked following time they refused to provide service or provide explanation. Strange people

Everything was nice

Clean functional room, easy access from the motor way and clean parking. I'd stay again if I was in the area.

Parking was good and secure Good location It has a bar and other fast food are there too.

Staff was friendly and accommodating! We extended our stay twice with no hassles. Parking was safe and secure.

Room carpet could do with a clean and reported one draw runner broken. Good value would stay again
