Hotel was ideally located just off M6 with a large, free carpark and was excellent value for money. Room was spacious and clean and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable with the best pillows ever. The bar and restaurant was full of character and Liz the restaurant manager was very professional, friendly, knowledgeable and dedicated to making her guests stay special. The dinner menu was as good as any fine dining restaurant with game, fish and other options all cooked, seasoned and served to perfection. We were also delighted to receive a complimentary treat to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Breakfast was excellent too with freshly prepared fruit on the buffet table, ad-lib coffee & tea and the cooked menu was prepared beautifully. The general manager was also very helpful, friendly and couldn’t do enough to make our stay perfect. We will definitely be back again.

We had 2 rooms for a 3 night stay. The hotel price was excellent value for money and which included breakfast and parking. The breakfast offered cooked options which were freshly prepared by order. All the staff were very friendly. The rooms were clean with modern decor and bathrooms and with quality beds and bed linens. There was ample parking. The hotel was set in pleasant grounds and conveniently close to the motorway and a great stopping off point for local attractions, villages and country walks. In short, a great hotel for the money.

Rooms was a bit dated, but nice and clean. Comfy beds, couldnt complain. Was worried it might be too cold as window was a bit draughty due to age, but once the central heating came on, it was very cosy. Cooked breakfast was along alongwith a selection of pastries, cereals, juices and hot beverages

Breakfast very good and excellent value for money

I stay at The Statham Lodge several times each year as I have family in the area. They never fail to provide excellent value for money and a comfortable stay. The staff are excellent and everywhere is clean and tidy at all times. It has a homely feel that is missing from the big name chains and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and dependable place to lay your head :-)
