Perfect Star!

The hotel had two distinct parts the older part was authentic German. The new part with the pool was practical and the pool was fantastic. Breakfast was excellent and evening food was good.

Wir kommen jeden Juli für ein Wochenende in die Weinstube Lochner und es war gut wie immer. Sehr effiziente Rezeption, saubere Zimmer, gutes Frühstück... alles mehr als in Ordnung. Wir kommen nächstes Jahr wieder.

Ich war mit meinem Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel insgesamt sehr zufrieden. Besonders hervorzuheben sind die freundlichen und zuvorkommenden Mitarbeiter, die den Aufenthalt angenehm gestaltet haben. Der Pool lädt zum Entspannen ein und ist gut gepflegt. Auch das Restaurant überzeugt mit leckeren Speisen und einem freundlichen Service. Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber und ordentlich. Zwar ist das Hotel insgesamt schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, doch die regelmäßige Pflege sorgt dafür, dass alles in einem guten Zustand bleibt. Ein rundum angenehmes Erlebnis!

Nettes Familienhotel direkt im Zentrum des kleinen Weinorts Markelsheim. Wir waren dieses Jahr schon das 5. Mal in diesem Hotel und es hat uns wie immer sehr gut gefallen. Das Mobiliar ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber alles ist sehr gepflegt und sauber. Das Frühstück ist gut, die Küche im hauseigenen Restaurant excellent. Das Hotel verfügt über ein kleines Hallenbad. Der Ort ist ideal gelegen als Ausgangspunkt für die Frankenfestspiele in Röttingen und das Festkonzert in Schloss Weikersheim.

Stay was fine, hotel is quite dated by generally clean and staff helpful. Breakfast had a good variety.

Staff is AMAZING....friendly and helpful. Town is adorable and close to lots of amazing other towns. In addition, it's about a mile away from a fabulous Thermal Pool. Highly recommend this hotel. Food at the hotel was fabulous as well.

Quiet place a bit offside the main road - good for relaxation and experiencing a very traditional German Region

Staff went out of their way to make sure our food order was correct with the language barrier.

This little gem rests within the confines of a small village, but DO NOT let that dissuade you from visiting. The staff, and locals!, are very friendly. Many many people speak English, so communication is not a problem. It has modern amenities and old world charm. Recommended.

The Lochner is in Markelsheim (not Bad Mergenteim, as appears on some sites). Markelsheim is a charming wine village situated under impressively steep vine slopes. The hotel is as charming as the village. It's a classic old German building into which they've somehow managed to install lifts. Some of the floors are on "half-storeys" so not all the rooms avoid stairs. There was ample parking at the back, though the spaces were tight. After a very hot day, my room was a bit warm at night, even with the window ajar, but not uncomfortable. I had a single room, which was large enough. As the hotel filled up, the wi-fi in my room slowed and would often drop out. Tolerable though. There's a lovely big indoor at about 28C - perfect on a hot day - and a sauna, which no-one used that day. The breakfast was a normal fine German breakfast. The staff were very welcoming, though with some I found it better to communicate in German than in English. I enjoyed my single night stay, but I probably wouldn't want a long stay here.

Glockengeläut die ganze Nacht. Kaum ein Auge zugemacht. Deshalb nicht nochmal für mich. Ansonsten alles OK.

Ondanks dat het adres aangeeft dat dit in Bad Mergenheim ligt, is de werkelijkheid dat dit in een aangrenzend dorp ligt op ca 17 minuten rijden met de auto van het centrum van Bad Mergenheim. Overigens een leuk plaatsje met een groot kasteel. In de directe omgeving van het hotel is er alleen een pizzeria in de buurt, als je niet van wild of varkensgerechten houdt. De ontbijt faciliteit was prima, niets over aan te merken. Achter het hotel is een ruime parking voor de gasten.
