The Hamilton is a unique fusion of British Stately Home turned Inn, and Japanese hot spring spa. It sits on the steep side of a hill, making the entry challenging for those with mobility limitations. Once inside, however, the building is fitted with ramps and an elevator. Staff are alert for arrivals, come to the parking lot to help position the car and bring your luggage inside. Check-in takes place seated in elegant chairs in the parlour, with a choice of juice or sparkling wine to refresh you from your journey. The staff takes the necessary information and explains the options before escorting you to your room while carrying your bags. Everything in the hotel is retro style, including the plumbing (except the modern elevator). Rooms are spacious with large comfortable beds and a generous sofa. The only complaint I had was the height of the beds, which were actually much lower than normal, making it a little difficult to get up if (like me) you're over a certain age. Breakfast was included in the room charge. Rather than the usual hotel buffet, this is a sit-down affair in a spacious room reminiscent of an English college refectory. It features several removes, including fruit, yoghurt, soup, eggs, meats, fish, and breads. It could easily be mistaken for an English manorial guest house, except that everything is in Japanese, with optional yukata for one's appearance in the dining hall. (Due to health issues, we did not visit the hot springs, of which there are two.)

Nice and excellent hot spring

The Hamilton is a beautiful hotel with spacious rooms by any standard. The only drawback of my stay there was that Hotels.com only offered the option of with or without breakfast and there was no half board option. When I checked in I was told that I had to make dinner reservations 3 days in advance. The location of The Hamilton was a bit off the track of the onsen street and Ureshino was rather quiet at night. I was travelling by myself and so I didn't want to wander around in the dark in a strange town. But I had great difficulties in getting restaurant recommendations from the hotel staff as I don't speak any Japanese and they had only one staff who can speak very little English. This experience marred an otherwise very enjoyable stay. The hotel provides shuttle service to the bus center.l

年末で混雑した中、スタッフの方々からは丁寧に対応していただきました。ディナーのイタリアンは少し高めの料金設定でしたが、美味しくいただきました。客室で気になったことは、室内設置の加湿機能付空気清浄機に水が入っておらず、冬季なので検討していただきたいと思いました。嬉野温泉を訪れたら、リピートします。

とろとろのお湯、美味しい食事、気持ちのいいお部屋、スタッフさんの笑顔、とても癒されたひとときでした。朝食の飲み物コーナーにスパークリングワインが冷えているのを見つけ、さらに幸せな気持ちになりました。

連泊しましたが、2日目の朝食は内容を変えてくださっていて、さりげない気配りをかんじました。何よりも温泉の泉質が最高で、建物の何とも言えない雰囲気、所所に感じるほのかなよい香りなど、何回でも行きたくなる宿。一人旅には持ってこいのやど。 浴室内の掃除をもう少し念入りにして欲しい

Staff is helpful and polite, onsen is good, breakfast's food & environment are excellent . Dislike the staircases at the entrance, difficult to take luggage for check in and out. Will come again.

英式古堡酒店極具格調，有免費温泉浸浴及英式早餐，服務態度良好，值得一讚。

泉質、宿の雰囲気など、とても素晴らしく大好きな宿です。ロビーにコーヒーと和紅茶を準備して下さるのですが、じかんがひじょうにみじかいのがざんねんです。チェックインしてからせめて夜の10時過ぎまではそのままにしておいて欲しいです。

嬉野温泉は日本三大美肌の湯ですので、お湯はとても良く、最高です！朝食のみのプランにしたのですが、朝食はとても美味しかったです。次回は夕食も食べてみたいです。お部屋も素敵な感じで（調度品も全て質の良いもの）冷蔵庫に入っている飲み物（無料）やコーヒーお茶等も充実。近くにこんな良いお宿があるとは！おすすめです！
