Loved this hotel. The staff were all very helpful and welcoming. We were only there for one night but would definitely stay again. Our room was huge! Very comfortable and clean. The area was really nice. Walkable from shoreditch high street station for getting around but also not far to walk to towerhill area.

Lovely looking hotel. Room was nice and big but a bit of wear and tear, chips in the coffee table etc, pool was nice and warm but not told enough about it at check in, had to ask where it was, then when we went down was told all lockers fully booked had to leave everything by side of pool. Lady who checked us in and out has absolutely no social skills or good customer service, didn’t even wish us a nice stay or ask if we had a nice stay at checkout, wasn’t impressed with the attitude. Not sure it says anywhere £50 deposit required but they do ask for it at check in fyi.

Great room

Loved our stay at this property. The location was excellent and very well placed for cafés, restaurants, local street art and entertainment. It is about a ten minute walk to the nearest tube station, if you have lots of luggage, but wasn’t a major issue for us. The rooms were large, which is a major bonus in London. We received a free upgrade, which was amazing and much needed at the end of a 4-week holiday. Staff were lovely and so helpful. Spoke to Michael who was one of the hotel managers and had a really nice chat, he also showed us the police cells in the bar and told us a bit of the history of the hotel, which was previously a working courthouse and police station, which added to the charm of staying there. Loved the rooftop bar, but unfortunately a lot of functions were booked for the weekend we stayed, so could only get limited access. The pool and spa looked great but we didn’t have time to use them, as it’s London, right? Too much to do. Spitalfields market was only a 15 minute walk away, a great place for food, alternative shopping and people-watching. Would definitely stay here again!

The hotel was beautiful, well air-conditioned, staff was helpful, and they gave us a complimentary room upgrade. The bar/restaurant on-site is iconic.

Nice base for discovering more around Shoreditch. Nice big room with air con and with a fridge which was great as it was a bit of a heatwave when we were there! Would stay again.

We had a lovely two nights stay. Great location and hotel

The hotel had character and a great location with access to bars, restaurants, the tube, and onsite bar and restaurant. There was free breakfast with our reservation however we didn’t get to use it. Others in our party said it was excellent.

A great choice overall, particularly thanks to its excellent location and the quality of the staff. The hotel is ideally situated, only a 5-10 minute walk to old street tube station, restaurants, and nightlife. The staff are excellent, from check-in to departure, everyone was friendly, professional, and eager to help. Any requests were handled efficiently, and their welcoming attitude really enhanced tour stay. The rooms where clean and comfortable but the furniture could do with a refresh as it showing signs of wear and tear. Overall, it’s a well-located hotel with excellent service, which I highly recommend.

Clean room, peaceful hotel which looks lovely when you walk in! Spa also nice but quite small. Bed comfortable and spacious rooms with lovely en suite. Unfortunately, we had one bathing towel between us and they advertise 24 room service for food and drink. However when we rang we were told there was absolutely no food available so we ended up missing our evening meal as it was 11pm. Our advice was, “ Ring Uber Eats”. When we complained we were told we would be emailed their response. Nearly a week later and nothing.

Shower didn’t drain quickly so high level of water in the tray. TV had no sound.

Excellent stay at the hotel everything was just great

Great stay as usual, rooms well appointed, staff are very friendly & nothing is too much trouble

Fabulous property just let down a little by lower quality fittings that need some maintenance, than it deserves. (Never managed to use the pool/spa as it was either unmanned with no towels etc available or was out of use. Bathroom fittings slightly damaged and wardrobes that need adjusting so that the doors close.)

Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. For London the rooms are quite spacious. We stay here every year in May and have not been let down yet. Roof Top bar is a nice touch but the cocktails were inconsistent.
