Met a group of sincere and kind-hearted staff in hotel. The building and the Japanese Garden behind left us with good memory of some past history. Easy parking for visitors who drive to Hotel.

I wish we could've stayed longer to explore the area more. Appears there is quite a night life to Yamaguchi and Yudaonsen.

A worthwhile stay for rich historical references

Staying at Matsudaya was a wonderful experience. It was beautiful, peaceful, and comfortable. The onsen baths were great. The food was outstanding. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and polite. Our visit was no nice that we were very sad to leave. Matsudaya was everything we could have hoped for in a traditional onsen ryokan. We hope to return someday.

The staff was incredibly accommodating and the garden was magnificent. Getting to feed the koi each morning and relaxing in the peaceful environment was fabulous. Couldn't recommend it higher.

Remarkable, elegant, gracious, warm hospitality. The baths were fun and the food was excellent.

We loved our stay at this 300-year-old Japanese style hotel. The staff was excellent. The rooms were excellent. And the onsen took all our troubles (and aches) away. Highly recommend it.

Historical value it has is priceless.

The staff and accommodations were amazing. Make sure to enjoy the garden. We chose the traditional Japanese breakfast at the inn. Absolutely delicious. Many wonderful restaurants nearby for dinner, if you choose to explore outside the inn. Highly recommend Matsudaya.

This was a very unique property where one could experience what living in an authentic and historic Japanese house would be like. Although the main house was over 100 years old, the maintenance and upkeep made it modern. The actual room had all of the modern features tucked away behind panels. Everything was immaculately clean. The house mother was truly warm and inviting. All of the staff were extremely attentive and helpful without being in the way.

It was totally wonderful experience. Room condition was fine and service was just perfect. I will definitely choose this hotel if I have another chance to visit this area.

食事が一つ一つ丁寧に作っており、大変美味しかった。

福岡から島根に旅行し、帰りに1泊しました晩御飯は外で食べましたが、従業員の丁寧な対応、お風呂も檜のいい匂いがします。家族風呂も予約なしで空いてたら入れます。部屋は様々ですが利用した部屋はきれいでした。 朝ごはんは大人がお腹１杯になるくらいの量です。 小さい子供は苦手な食べ物があるかもしれません。ホテルに事前に相談してみたら良かったかも。

炊合せの鮑と夏野菜ゼリー寄せ料理大変美味でした スタッフの方々のおもてなし満足です

とても歴史のある宿で、幕末の志士達が集まり、その後入った温泉が家族風呂として残っている、とても価値のある温泉宿でした。 サービスが兎に角秀逸で、料理も美味しく、庭園も綺麗に手入れされ、錦鯉の餌やりも楽しめます。 また、訪れたいです。

大変ゆっくりできました。 お風呂はすごく良かったです。ゴールデンウィークでもゆったりできました。

スタッフの対応が、素晴らしかった。 本館からの景色が、良かったので、また行きたいと思いました。
