When I arrived to check in I was forced to wait for almost 2 hours in the lobby, because they couldn’t find my Expedia reservation. I showed them my reservation confirmation email, I showed them my credit card statements to prove I had already paid. Then they asked me to pay again if I wanted to access my room. I tried to stay positive about it, but then I got to my room. It had a few nice paintings that made it seem elegant, but it was actually quite run down. There was no shower door, the shower fell apart the first day. There was also a musty smell Whenever the house keeper came, she did a terrible job - sloppily making up my bed, so it was covered in wrinkles, and the pillows were casually laid out. Not professional or worthy of an expensive hotel. They should be charging $30 a night for what they offer there was bad insulation so I could hear people loudly outside all morning and night, so I didn’t sleep well at all . I paid $75 a night for this hotel, which is a high price for Thailand... and I expected an elegant hotel. All month I had been paying $45 a night to stay in a modern, luxurious room at Icon Park Hotel, right up the street. There they clean the rooms professionally, everything is brand new, and there are no funny smells. For New Years I decided I would spend double and treat myself to a boutique hotel with more traditional decorations but I was sorely disappointed at how run down this hotel was and how sloppy the cleaning service was

We stayed a month in Thailand, with 10 days in Chiang Mai. Because we were traveling with children, we were a little nervous about how rowdy and loud staying inside the old city might be. This hotel was a quiet respite and yet still close to everything you could want. The staff helped arrange transportation, tours, laundry service. The front desk was a terrific resource to point us to shopping, restaurants, and other amenities. Really friendly staff, excellent English. Breakfast was basic but consistent and delicious. There are two pools, and both need cleaning...but our kids didn't care. We would most definitely stay here again.
