Wonderful stay here, we came in April and have been meaning to write a review. The location is superb, steps fro the Tiber river and Trastevere and walking distance to most of Romes splendid sights. The deluxe rooms had vaulted ceilings and palatial bathrooms. The concierge staff were welcoming and efficient and special thank you to Danielle our breakfast waiter who went out of his way to treat us like famaglia! This hotel is truely a hidden gem in our favorite city Roma!

The front desk staff were welcoming and so helpful with taxis, information about restaurants and everything. The breakfast on the rooftop was nice and the breakfast staff wonderful too. They were so sweet. The room was great. The bed was more comfortable than my bed at home! The hotel was quiet, allowing us to get rest. There was also a bar downstairs and a nice lounge area with a TV downstairs. The location was close to the Tiber River and restaurants on the other side of the River. There was shopping close by and a convenient grocery store around the corner for incidentals like bottled water. We loved the staff and this hotel so much that we would definitely return if we come to Rome again! This cute boutique hotel had it all!

Small hotel which is located centrally so ideal for walking to all of the sights of Rome. Informative staff and a lovely buffet breakfast. Would we stay again, yes definitely.

Super clean boutique hotel in prime, convenient location walkable to main tourist attractions in Rome. Around the corner from old Jewish ghetto and synogogue. Hotel staff were extra accommodating and professional. Very cute rooftop bar and lounging area. We were very impressed with the fact that the hotel provided kosher bakery goods at the included breakfast without it even being arranged or requested in advance.

We did not enjoy our stay at Hotel Monte Cenci. Let me start by saying this place does not feel like a 4 star property. Our “superior room” was 3 stars at best. The room was in dire need of maintenance and repairs. It clearly has been neglected. Our room had a partial smashed wall, loads of scuff marks and scratches, broken door jam, cracked flooring, and mold around the sink in the bathroom. The bathroom setup in general looked and felt like a “pensione” complete with poor lighting. This was our second room choice, as the first room they showed us was in worse condition, including damaged furniture. In addition to the maintenance issues, house cleaning was not on point. We constantly had to ask for basic items such as: 2 sets of towels, 2 water glasses, coffee, etc. I’m truly perplexed by the mixed reviews. We are very active on Expedia. We have booked many boutique hotels throughout Europe. This stay did not reflect the 4 star experience we’ve come to expect. The only positive thing I can say is the location of the hotel is ideal for walking the city center. The staff were helpful with restaurant recommendations and booking reservations.

Hotel Monte Cenci is an absolute gem! The staff is amazing—friendly, attentive, and always ready to help, making the stay truly memorable. Their breakfast is out of this world—absolutely delicious and a perfect way to start the day! The location is unbeatable, with all the major monuments within walking distance, making it incredibly convenient to explore the city. The hotel itself is charming, comfortable, and provides a peaceful retreat after a day of sightseeing. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Rome!
