Quirky and comfortable

Place is a little dated and it was noisy at night due to being over the pub and also busy in the morning with it being on a main road. No car park but on street parking up to 8am. Staff were very friendly though and made our stay.

Have stayed here multiple times over the last 5yrs. The staff are always great, the breakfast are nice & simple, the rooms are always immaculately clean. However the condition of the rooms are now a disappointment with liquid stains splattered and dripped down the walls. A good redecoration is needed.

A nice place to stay. Breakfast was good. Room was clean and comfy. Unfortunately the member of staff on arrival could have been more welcoming (maybe a smile?).

Booked as got stuck on the A303, nice staff, great breakfast and hard to argue with the price. My only minor criticism is being 6’3 the light they’d fitted to the single room was basically at face height so I cracked my head a couple of times getting in and out of bed. Otherwise would recommend for a cheap stay.

The room floors were dirty, there were no washcloths and the facilities are outdated. It is convenient for Wellington town but it is definitely not a desirable neighborhood.

It was a stop over. We had to park in a public car park over the road for a small price. We were a bit nervous of leaving our holiday car in the car park. We shared 3 generous starters for a very reasonable light supper. Our breakfast was equally generous and very well cooked. The cooked breakfast was the main thing. Not so much choice aside from it.

Mixed feelings about this place but no doubting the great price for a surprisingly good room with ensuite! Menu choice not great for vegetarians but food ok breakfast was good, cooked to order and better than expected. The downside is that it feels a bit like a locals drinking pub so as a lone female wouldn't have used the bar or bought food. Great bargain option for a one night stay though!

Exceeded expectations. Good, clean room, decent shower, nice people, good breakfast included, parking over the road free overnight, decent pint in the pub. Booked at really short notice as the usual budget hotels were either full or charging decidedly non budget prices. This turned out to be a much better alternative, will stay again.
