Beautiful character home B&b in Victoria. Perfect location for a quick visit. Breakfast was also very good. The only complaint we had was that there are no room darkening blinds on the windows so we were awake very early due to that. Other than that it was a great stay and even provided storage for our bikes.

With the waterfront location and the grassed area facing the beach, we were banking on having some chairs to enjoy the view. There were only four wrought iron chairs in total for all the guests and they needed paint. Part of the charm of staying in an old building is appreciating its history and how it has been developed into a bed and breakfast. But the door frame to the Kensington room was so out of alignment that it took a lot of muscle to open the door of the suite and as such it was binding heavily on the carpet. The sink drain was clogged, and one had a considerable wait for it to drain completely. During the evening there were no pastries of any sort and that would have been nice with our evening tea. The prepared check in was fine but the first staff members to be seen appeared at breakfast the following morning. There were two very poorly dressed individuals serving. Their actions were simply procedural with no warmth and usually breakfast is such an integral part of the experience of a bed and breakfast. The coffee was not hot and served with milk which didn’t help. We were never offered another coffee. The poached eggs for eggs benedict had not been properly drained prior to placement on the English muffins and that resulted in hot water pooling on the plate diluting the sauce. The potatoes were of the packaged style and not very hot. The salt and pepper shakers were clogged. We were wishing we were in a 3 star hotel with a kitchenette room.

Bathroom was clean but needed updating badly. Food was okay but there were no options at all.

I enjoyed my stay. However the breakfast could have been improved with a selection of fresh fruit or fruit salad available and a selection of cereals and granola if one did not want a cooked breakfast. These items could be set out buffet style.

Location was excellent. We were on the top floor king bed with a patio. The room next door had their shower right by our bed. And you could hear everything. The patio great location but not clean and the chairs needed new cushions. The railing on the deck was too high to see over, unless you were standing. The room was spotless, bed very comfortable. Breakfast amazing. Staff wonderful. Gardens and outside maintenance below standard. This bed-and-breakfast could be a beautiful Bushart gardens, but it was a weed infested and the plants were neglected and broken down.

We liked the location and room, very cute vibes. Having the breakfast was convenient as well, the lady serving us was really sweet. The only quick comment, is that it was hard to close the door smoothly without making noise. Lynne

Overall the stay was pleasant. I would say the outside property was not as well maintained as the photos indicated.

Very nice and classic Victorian style B&B! Great location ( right near the Beacon Hill Park and coast)! Highly recommended for first timer to Victoria!

Overall our stay was good. The staff and the breakfast were excellent. The location is great and the view from our room was awesome. Think of the owners invested in some gardening and slight updates to the property, Dashwood would have been a great vs good experience for us.

A beautiful room with character and yet all the necessary amenities. When I told the staff I had an early flight and had to miss breakfast they made sure to prepare something and place it in my fridge the night prior. Gorgeous views of the ocean and excellent walkable location!

Loved this place! Breakfast was amazing! Staff was so nice and attentive. The complementary drinks (water, sodas, tea, coffee) and pastries were very helpful especially b/c this location is a bit of a walk from any stores. Location is perfect if you are wanting to be in a quiet residential area with beach and park right across the street, but it is several miles from city center. We walked from the tourist part of town a few times because we were able to walk through Beacon Park which is amazing park. If you looking for a quiet, scenic location, this is the place for you. Just be prepared to do some walking (or driving) in order to explore downtown attractions.

The rooms are clean and quiet and the breakfast is good. The common area is very limited and not very inviting. Location is great right along the water and bike/walking trails.
