had a great stay at the Sand Hotel in Iceland, and one of the highlights was definitely the breakfast. It was excellent—fresh, healthy, and thoughtfully prepared. There was a wide variety of options, and everything felt high-quality. One standout detail was the ginger shots, which were such a refreshing and energizing touch. It’s not something you see everywhere, and it really elevated the whole experience. Parking, however, is a bit more complicated. Since the hotel is located in the city, there’s no dedicated parking lot, so you’ll need to rely on street parking. The area is divided into zones labeled P1 to P3, and parking is paid by the hour. It can take a little time to find a spot, and you’ll need to keep track of the parking rules, but that’s fairly typical for a central city location. Overall, the breakfast alone makes a strong impression, and while parking requires some planning, it doesn’t take away from an otherwise excellent stay.

A lovely hotel in a very central location. Can be a little noisy from street noise on Friday’s and Saturday’s but closing the window at night did help.

Second time I’ve stayed here. Great boutique Hotel with a lovely breakfast. This time I booked the entry level room which was snug but well appointed.

Breakfast was included with our stay. It was nothing special but was ok. There is only street parking. They will email you with parking directions and that was very helpful. The hotel was clean and the staff were very kind.

This hotel had an excellent location, right on the main street next to shops restaurants, and only a short walk away from all major attractions. It was a bit dated, and the rooms were not particularly large, which is typical of European hotels. However, the staff was super helpful and the breakfast was lovely. There was a wide selection to choose from, and we enjoyed the coffee service. There was a lovely bar and bakery on the premises.

Lovely hotel very centrally located within easy reach of Reykjavik’s shops, restaurants and sights/activities. Super comfy bed and top quality bedding. Although there are no cooked breakfast options, the quality of the continental breakfast and range of options on offer, is superb. The freshly baked bread was particularly good! As was the smoked salmon.
