Staff friendly, apart from lady in bar, unwelcoming looked like she didn't want to be there. Everyone else was ok. Distinct smell of old grease as soon as you get to any of the doors, and inside the Hotel. Room is freezing cold, bathroom mold in shower tray, dirty shower head, mold along the top of the ceiling, and the glass shower door edges. The ceiling in main room had quite a bit of water damage in 2 places, room 215. Cobwebs everywhere, carpet dated. No firedoor at all. Smell of grease in room too. Had to ask to be moved, which they did. And they gave us a portable heater. Room 218, only slightly better, but again freezing, so welcomed to have the heater, no firedoor. Could see the hall light under the gap of door at night time. Smoke detector had a plaster on it, remote for TV didn't work properly at all. Restaurant, seats actually stuck to the floor, looked like the cold breakfast items were left out over night. Had some food in bar first night and ended up with food poisoning. Wouldn't eat in there again.

Last week, I visited Cong from the USA. I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful little hotel. From check in, to check out, the staff went out of their way to make me comfortable and welcome. The breakfast they provide is one of the best of any hotel I've ever visited, anywhere in the world, and the Crow's Nest restaurant served up a very nice selection of local fare. My room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The room also had a beautiful view of the river behind the hotel. If you ever visit Cong Village (and I highly recommend you do!) treat yourself to a stay in Ryan's Hotel!

The 2 stars had me reading reviews. No need, what a lovely, cosey clean hotel to stay in. The room was surprisingly large and spotless. Super king bed + and very comfortable. Lots of parking at the back of the hotel. Staff are friendly and very helpful. We really enjoyed our short stay and loved Cong Village and Ryan's is right in the heart. Highly recommend Ryan's.

We visited for one night on Easter weekend. The check-in process was nice and easy. Plenty of parking at the property. Staff very friendly and helpful. There is a good pub on site with sports on tv and food served until late evening. Coming from Dublin the prices in the pub were very affordable. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Tea and coffee available in the rooms. The beds very big and comfy too. The bathrooms modern and clean. One of the rooms had no window, which took me by surprise, but for one night stay it made no difference to me. There is a bit of natural light coming in through the bathroom door but for a longer stay I would definitely look for a room with a window. The other room had a lovely view of the village. But both rooms were cosy and warm. Breakfast was good with full Irish fare in a form of buffet plus cereal, juices and coffee served by friendly staff. All in all we enjoyed our stay in beautiful Cong village.
