I stayed at a Room Mate property in Madrid during this same holiday although this one in Barcelona was vastly different. The rooms were a lot smaller, staff not as friendly and the plumbing seems quite old so water pressure is quite low and you have to fiddle a lot with the taps to get the right temperature. The location is good, although I would rate the hotel as just average.

Hotel was brillent, with great location for access to metro and gothic quarter. Theres plenty off places for good food within waking distance.

We really enjoyed our stay at Room Mate Gerard. Great breakfast, staff, location, nice rooms. We would consider staying here again in the future.

The bed and the pillows we're so comfortable! Just what you need after a day of walking around Barcelona. The location is perfect, far enough from the buzz but close enough you can walk to them.

I had a great stay at Room Mate Gerard. The rooms were very clean, and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. They made sure everything was comfortable and went out of their way to help with anything we needed. I’d definitely stay here again!

Staff was very helpful. So close to Arc de Triomf, several restaurants, and transit. Walked around during the days and early evening with no issues. Room was very comfortable.

A very unique hotel especially when u first enter. But it's clean and comfortable. Loved their little seating area in the room we stayed at. Close to the bus station. We plan to stay there again.

The staff were lovely. A great Italian restaurant was a half block away. I traveled alone but felt very safe.

Maybe I unluckily got the worst room in the building with the wastewater pipes in my wall. But I was up all night hearing what seemed like every toilet flush in the building. It was pretty rough.

The breakfast was absolutely delicious. We loved the ability to order eggs any style from the kitchen, all the juices, as well as the cheese and fruit. Great add to a beautiful hotel.

Whilst the hotel’s location is convenient, the condition of the property was poor. The bathroom door was a sliding one and we couldn’t close ours at all meaning no privacy. The wood at the bottom of the door had completely rotten and was in a bad state. What’s disappointing is, this is clearly not a new issue - why has it has been left like that and still offered to guests? Not worth the money.

We noticed after checkin that the sliding bathroom door was damaged at the bottom and we couldn’t close it. After notifying the front desk and even showing a picture they did nothing to fix it. Did not offer to move us either. It’s weird to not be able to close the bathroom door. The coffee machine was not working either, even after notifying them of this they did nothing. A lady that worked evenings gave great recommendations for dinner though.
