We have just returned from a 2 night stay. Everything was beautiful. The staff were lovely and friendly. I will stay here again and would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Malton.

Reasonably priced, beautiful grounds and building fairly basic room but get what you pay for. Person who checked me in wasn’t friendly but wasn’t rude. No hot water for shower so had to have a cold one.

Lovely old lodge and good location. Bus stop outside takes you to Whitby. Plumbing could do with up an upgrade. Other than that a very nice stay.

One night stay, that was it, did the job, bed was horrific and room had plaster missing off the walls and ceiling etc. Was clean enough for a working night away. Staff were pleasant enough checking in. Malton although lovely doesn’t offer much.

Quick and easy check in and out. Very comfortable beds in a large clean room. Excellent parking and easy access to the town. White a bit of noise from outside but for the rates and everything else about the hotel this is a minor point. The rooms were quite dated but I knew this when booking and it also felt like a very minor point for the stay. Overall had an amazing stay!

The property has a lot of character with lovely grounds. If you are looking for something different to mainstream then The Old Lodge is for you. We stayed in a very large room on the ground floor. The bed was a four poster bed with a super king size mattress. Unfortunately the bedframe squeaked as you get in and out of bed which is not ideal. Everything looked clean except the carpet which could do with a deep clean. The room has a view of the beautiful grounds, albeit obstructed by the TV.

It is a period property with excellent extensive grounds that hosts special occasions so there is a lot to like. Unfortunately the front wall has errowded and is fenced off like a building site and some of the wiring looks Micky Mouse so not so good.

Whilst I acknowledge the “annexe” is cheaper than the hotel. The room is in poor condition, cracked wall, ceilings, plasterboard holes, stained carpets, TV can’t be seen from the bed as it’s so small in comparison to the room, only saving grace was the bed was ok to sleep in!
