Wonderful experience all around

The hotel staff was awful. We were having issues with our flight out of Newark due to government shutdown and had to cancel our flight and the hotel would not assist us with a cancellation and refund for the reservation even though we had given advance noticed of the cancellation and the trip cancellation was not in our hands, it was a flight issue.

This hotel and the staff are amazing!! The hotel itself is beautiful and the amenities are wonderful. The staff was top notch, they went above and beyond to make our stay feel special. Highly recommend booking at Torel, we will be back on our next trip to Porto!

We always stay at Torel properties in Portugal and this was our first time at Hotel Avantagarde. The staff is amazing! Erica at the front desk reception went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed and Roman was also extremely helpful with tips on anything we asked of him. the Food service and quality at breakfast is OUTSTANDING!!

We loved our room with the gorgeous big tub overlooking the river. Too bad it was raining but we still had a great time! Staff was very helpful and friendly.

The hotel, along with its staff were excellent. The housekeeping team were pleasant and friendly. Nothing was too much. Although we didn’t use the swimming pool facility due to weather, it was beautifully presented and well kept.

The property is beautiful and modern. We loved the artful decor in our room the Nicolas Tesla. It would have been an even more epic experience with two comfortable chairs in the room. I will recommend this property to friends and relatives who plan to travel to Porto next May.

Staff was 5star. Breakfast great. The hotel room was nice but needs to be updated. Definitely not five star or worth the cost.

Great location, very walkable to sites around Porto. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Great little bar and restaurant in the hotel itself. Would stay again next time I’m in Porto.

Excellent hotel. Slightly off from what many would consider the ideal location but we enjoyed getting away from the center of town. Room was spacious and comfortable. The view of the river was amazing. Alex the bartender was terrific. Great cocktails and conversation. Highly recommended.
