I can't believe the average rating is over 3 stars.
This time, I stayed on a holiday and the 10,000 yen adult rate was a good deal, but I've found other ryokans at this price to be just as satisfying.
First of all, I know it's not a hot spring, but there were strands of hair floating around.
I know the building itself is old and it doesn't bother me, but even though I had booked a check-in time of 6:00 PM, they told me they can't serve dinner after 6:30 PM.
The service at dinner was awful...
I had the window open in the cold. The food got cold, and the staff were clearing other guests' plates, but they were making a lot of noise and seemed so busy I couldn't even ask for water.
It was really cold and noisy, and the food didn't taste as good, and I couldn't even relax from my daily fatigue, which was a terrible result. I will definitely never stay here again.
The staff were kind and helpful, but it seemed like they were working reluctantly. Maybe they couldn't leave unless they finished on time, but it was just too much. This time, it might be because of the difference in price, but even those who paid less had good reviews, so it might be because they were busy.
I definitely wouldn't recommend it.
The only thing I noticed was that the staff were thoughtful during breakfast and seemed to take care in clearing away the dishes.
