Amazing location, host was wonderful, helpful and so welcoming!! Deluxe room did have loud adjacent church bells that woke us up at 7am/ 7:30 etc. normally wouldn’t have bothered us… but felt more disruptive than it should have only because the A/C (weak to begin with) turned off several times during the night and would not come back On for some time. With 80 degree temperatures in the room (August is hot!) , we were VERY hot/ had trouble sleeping. Cant say enough about how wonderfully helpful the host was though. With parking, luggage, logistics… and location was the absolute BEST!! Convenient to everything yet in a quiet courtyard. Hard to find at first (upon arrival).

Excellent accomodation right in the middle of it all. Nice spacious rooms and nice breakfast on roof terrace. Host was great and very welcoming. Would definitely stay again.

The property is beautiful! Perfect location with old world Southern Italian architecture and charm! All of the attractions are just a short walk away, from the beach to restaurants and shopping. The host, Saverio, was simply a pleasure!! Thank you for a great visit to Tropea!! We will be back soon!

This hotel was perfect in every way. Clean, comfortable, quiet, and centrally located. Saverio was very helpful with everything: his recommendations for excursions and restaurants were excellent. I cannot say enough good things about our stay. I hope to be back!

WOW. What an amazing place. We loved the traditional stone architecture and spacious room. The location is central and 100m from the main piazza with great places to eat, drink and watch live music. Salverio is such a gracious and helpful host, he helped us book trips, taxis and even posted our post cards for us! Breakfast on the terrace each morning was a real highlight. Stunning views across the ocean. The staff also accommodated my vegan friend by making her soy cappuccinos. Thank you!

Excellent place. Saverio was great and he gave me so much advice about places to visit. He even made restaurant revelations for me and my friends. The view from the rooftop terrace is spectacular. I will definitely come back.

Residenza IL Barone is a fantastic property located in the best area of Tropea. The main residence is more of a hotel and the other accommodations are more like apartments. I had assumed that I booked a room in a Hotel but unfortunately it was an apartment. Being in the main hotel has several advantages but the apartments were still very nice. Tropea is a beach destination like no other. Many reviews talk about a lot of steps and walking but that’s just the way it is. That being said, we had a wonderful experience and the owner and manager were very kind and helpful. Great place to stay.

Don’t be fooled into booking the “apartment.” Location is excellent, at Piazza Tre Fontane. The main room is drab & charmless, up 14 stairs. There’s a dining table & chairs, sofa, sideboard, mini-kitchen w/ frig sink & stove. Poor lighting: Only ONE lightbulb in the whole room. No Air conditioning: Claims to have a/c, but had only a portable unit on wheels with an extension cord nearby. Cool air came out the front; hot air came out the large exhaust hose loose on the apartment floor—inside! The owner said to stick the wide exhaust hose out the door. That left the door open 6”—thru which lotsa heat. The apartment does NOT have serviceable a/c. No Balcony: Claims to have a balcony; does not. Has a 4” ledge. No toiletries: Claims to have “free toiletries;” does not. Not one bar of soap. Climb up to bed: Bed is up a narrow spiral staircase; 14 stairs, 15” wide. If you are larger than slim, if elderly, if you have any problem with stairs, forget it. You can’t bring a suitcase up, or much of anything. If you get up during the night, beware: the bathroom is downstairs. Hot sleep: There is no a/c upstairs (or downstairs). No breakfast: This is not a B&B. There’s no breakfast.

The hotel Il Barone is fabulous. But this apartment is run as a completely seperate entity. The air conditioner is a portable one which only vents through an open window and it is downstairs. If you are there in winter-no problem. But summer can be very hot. We moved to the hotel (uncharge) and it was fabulous. I wouldn't suggest the apartment for young children as there are super steep steps without a barrier, and another spiral staircase. Again, the hotel and those who work in it are amazing, and turned our trip from uncomfortable to fabulous.

Excellent B&B in a really good location. Owner was very helpful and suggested a number of restaurants as well as useful tips for the town. Room was comfortable, clean and quite spacious. Be sure to check which room you are booking as not all rooms have a Jacuzzi as indicated in the photos.

Mitten im Zentrum von Tropea und doch ruhig (Ende September) Unser Zimmer war sehr groß mit Jacuzzi Frühstück auf der Dachterrasse mit Blick zum Stromboli. Die beiden Damen sind ebenfalls sehr freudlich. Saverio hat eine sehr freundliche Art. Man fühlt sich sofort sehr wohl. Er hat viele Tipps für gute Lokale. Zum Stadtstrand nur ein kurzer Treppenabstieg. Von Il Barone werden kostenfrei Strandtücher zur Verfügung gestellt.Das Wasser ist traumhaft klar.

Della Residenza il Barone non si può dire niente di male, solo cose super positive. Un enorme Grazie a Saviero che è stato super gentile e onesto dall’ inizio del viaggio, cominciando dal parcheggio dell’auto che ha trovato una ottima soluzione. Da quando siamo arrivati all’hotel si è sempre interessato che non ci mancasse nulla e ci ha sempre dato consigli su posti e spiagge da visitare e un grande supporto per prenotare qualsiasi esperienza si voglia fare, cosa da non sottovalutare, davvero Top!! Le colazioni sono super abbondanti e puoi chiedere di tutto hai una vasta scelta di prodotti freschi e pronti le cuoche / cameriere sono state super cordiali e alla mano. Un posto dove sicuramente ci torneremo. Ci tengo a precisare una super pulizia!

Die Unterkunft liegt sehr zentral in Tropea und doch nicht zu lärmig. Sie ist gepflegt, sauber und das Personal extrem freundlich. Ich kann die Unterkunft jedem empfehlen!!!

Esperienza positiva. Personale cortese e disponibile. Struttura Pulita in pieno centro, circondata da negozi bar e ristoranti. Confort massimo. Tutti quello che serve per una vacanza relax, anche una spettacolare vasca idromassaggio con cromoterapia. Esperienza da ripetere
