Staff and cleanliness exceptional

Second time we’ve stayed at Wingrove House and it didn’t disappoint. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The room we booked was a premium king and had a large bathroom. We ate both nights in the hotel’s restaurant as we enjoyed the food there on our previous visit. The food was as good as we had before.

Very comfortable and lovely food

Our room (4) was at the front with the use of a verandah which was a bonus. The room was very clean and the bed and bedding were excellent. The only minor issues were the bathroom vanity unit was very tatty with warped wood and slightly peeling paint and the tiles behind the toilet were lifting with grubby grouting. A very good shower both power and temperature but possibly a new shower tray overdue. The bi fold doors to the bathroom did not work well! Several times one of us got stuck in the bathroom or couldn’t get the door open to get in and really noisy to use it during the night. Design needs a rethink. Lovely staff and excellent food. Lounge area very welcoming and comfortable.

We come back each year as its perfectly placed for Glyndebourne and it never disappoints. The village is also a delight

Beautiful village setting and close to everything. A few minor things that could be improved, the bed was so hard that it was hard to sleep and the noise in the hall from doors slamming from the automatic door closers and then load beeping when the doors didn’t quite close. So the food was good and the staff were fine but a lot of noise when you’re in the room.

Great stay in a beautiful part of the South Coast. The room was spacious and clean, the food served in the restaurant was high quality and the staff were very attentive and caring.

Lovely hotel located at the end of Alfriston High Street right behind an ancient church /churchyard. Friendly attentive staff comfortable lounge area and wonderful food. Also spotlessly clean.

A lovely stay at a very nice hotel. The room was great, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the lounge etc are just wonderful. Breakfast was generous and made with excellent ingredients For some reason the whole building is really warm - which will be good for some people and less so for others - but that aside I wouldn’t change a thing.
