We enjoyed our stay here in a suite- a good offer we picked up on Black Friday. I don’t really need a bath in the bedroom but it was very nice having a separate living space

Clean, beautiful rooms. A lovely stay with wonderful food. The reception staff were polite enough, but restaurant staff were excellent One disappointment was that we were allocated an accessible room and so there was no shower cubicle and the water soaked the whole floor of the bathroom. There was only one bedside table as it was removed and there was nowhere to put makeup on as the bathroom had nowhere to place a wash bag close enough to the mirror. The room was quite dark so no natural light to see to put makeup on. We asked to change rooms and the receptionist said that they couldn’t help as all rooms were allocated, yet we had arrived early enough to discuss a room and were told that our room wasn’t ready. It seems we were allocated a room last as we went out to explore and the other non-accessible rooms were given to other guests. We loved the hotel decor and the HB package included all the choices at a surcharge for some dishes. The restaurant staff were very helpful and recommended wine to accompany the main meals. I would stay here again using the HB package, but I would ring ahead to ask for a room that wasn’t accessible on the day of arrival.

I booked a NYE overnight stay, double room, however, I was told on my arrival that they only had accessible rooms available and they were fully booked to upgrade me. I was asked if this was ok, which I agreed, as I had no other option and didn’t check in until 6:00pm. The hotel is well situated, staff were friendly and the room was clean.

Everything from checking in to checking out was excellent. All the staff were first rate, as was the room and breakfast. On my second day I ordered the full breakfast minus certain items. Without asking they added extra of the other items.

Having stayed earlier in the week at the excellent HDV in Tunbridge wells i had high hopes for this hotel and expected it to be of a similar standard. Reception staff were excellent but when i arrived for dinner at 8.44pm i was told that i couldn't eat. Essentially this was because it was inconvenient for "chef" who wanted to go home.

The service was a bit disappoiunting. Excellent check in and pleased they confirmned that I had paid in advance. I was therefore a bit disappointed when they sought to charge me twice on my check out. Worth keeping your details handy. As a vegan there is only one main meal on room service, which I was keen to have - when you book a nice hotel you want to stay there - and so dissapoiunted that they dind't have it or think to try and offer something lese. A vegan burger cannot be that hard. But it also had the feel of being short staffed in the bar / restaurant, which might be part of it. Shame as I have stayed here before and liked it.

We stayed from yesterday to today for our 4th consecutive anniversary visit. It’s become a tradition for us, and we don’t mind spending quite a bit on a one-night stay because it’s such a special occasion. We loved our room, along with the adorable swan towels, chocolate truffles, and the lovely card from the team. We had an okay night’s sleep, but there was a loud tapping or dripping sound in or near our room that disturbed us throughout the night. This morning at breakfast something we usually really look forward to we had a less pleasant experience. When we requested breakfast from the woman who appeared to be the manager (she was dressed differently from the waitresses), her manner felt quite cold. I asked if I could put together a breakfast with eggs and hash browns, and I was about to ask for beans when she started listing options. When I mentioned hash browns, it felt as though she was looking down on us. That may not have been her intention, but her demeanour came across that way. It’s a shame this stay didn’t feel as warm as usual. My partner had a similar impression of her the evening before at the bar, so I’m not sure if this is typical,the rest of the staff were absolutely lovely. We ended the night with dinner at Zizzi’s, where the staff were wonderfully engaging and even surprised us with complimentary Prosecco to toast our wedding. Overall, it was just disappointing that the experience wasn’t quite as special as it has been in previous years.
