Spotlessly clean friendly staff fantastic architecture and history in the building. Central to Durham. Car park charges a little expensive could have been half the price. A lovely stay

Beautiful clean room with all amenities. A beautiful building. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Shower newly fitted and great, good qulaoty toiletries. Hairdryer.

First of all the building is amazing! Steeped in history and much preserved. The staff on reception from the minute you arrive to the staff in the restaurant at breakfast were all very friendly and efficient. The room was large and very comfortable, with lovely toiletries and coffee/tea making facilities. Loved the security to accessing the bedrooms too.

The room was well appointed, the only issue was the lighting. The lights could have been brighter as some areas were dark.

Room was lovely with good amenities, although there was a loud noise, possibly coming from the air con, but it's an old building so we expected it to be a bit querky. Staff were friendly and helpful The building itself has been restored tastefully with lots of original details. A really nice place to stay within easy walking distance to the centre of Durham

All very friendly and helpful

Our stay was amazing! We arrived just before midday and reception were very friendly. Janet was very helpful and rang us an hour later saying our rooms were ready which was a brilliant surprise. Steven in the bar was a brilliant host and very friendly. This hotel is absolutely stunning and immaculate. Would definitely stay again, 5 stars!

Friendly staff & clean room.

The room was really nice and big. Kind of modern Harry Potter with high cielings and nice bathroom. Quiet. Cool hotel inside. Dining room was great. Lovely wait staff! Excellent steak. Definitely would stay here again. Great location too. Easy walk to town but just outside so its quiet.

We were extremely pleased with the quality & service from the staff in a beautiful building - we asked for a room with limited walking and were given room 212 which was perfect. Staff were very pleasant when we arrived and wanted to wander through the hotel. Lovely stay Thankyou

Very nice room, great amenities, walkable to restaurants

This is my second time staying at this hotel. It is nice and very crazy and sits in a very great location. The staff is very kind and helpful.

The hotel building is fantastic. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely although I did have to request some extra lighting which was brought to us with half an hour. The bed was so comfortable and the shower was brilliant. Excellent stay.
