This is the second fortunate time to stay with K House. Room was clean, amenities were good and staff were excellent. The property is centrally located for all your needs and more. Will be coming back for more Japanese adventures.

Beautiful accommodation with all the extras. In a great location, walking distance to the market & lots of places to eat. We would definitely stay here again. The only drawback was the dryer took along time to dry, but the hotel provided a clothes horse which was handy.

Conveniently located in quiet alleyway. The hotel doesn’t have a staffed reception area so it’s not really a fully serviced hotel. Checking in etc is managed from another nearby hotel or support is via WhatsApp. Room cleaning and the usual amenities are provided.

Great spot to stay in Kyoto. Nice and quiet but close to everything. The room was immaculate and couldn’t fault anything. Would definitely stay again.

The hotel was clean, comfortable and quiet. It's in a good location near to shops, restaurants and bars as well as transport. Check in is 2 minutes away from where the rooms are but this is not a problem. Two small issues for us were: 1 We emailed the hotel about dropping bags before check in. The emails were not answered. When we called the number they gave us it was not answered. It was disappointing. 2 There was an unpleasant smell coming from the washing machine.

The perfect home base for a long stay in Kyoto! By the time we left, it felt more like Our K-Home (ha ha). We had the 5th floor suite, which is more like a proper apartment, complete with separate dining room/kitchen, in-unit laundry, closet, living room, and even a small tatami room. The balcony was a highlight of our trip. After a long day spent exploring Arashiyama or hiking up Mt. Inari (both easily accessible by nearby transit!), nothing beats sitting high up in your own private oasis overlooking the Kamo River with a couple drinks from the nearby 7-11. Food and entertainment options abound nearby, but the area around the hotel itself is still quiet and beautiful, complete with a scenic old canal and cozy traditional architecture. Staff were incredibly courteous, and our check-in host spoke fluent English. Check-out was simple and no-contact—just drop the key off at the desk and go. My two very minor complaints: the wifi speed was poor in our unit; and while we expected the combo washer/dryer to leave clothes a bit damp after a cycle, there was no clothesline or rack provided for air-drying (luckily we brought our own). But these were minor inconveniences in an otherwise very pleasant and relaxing stay. I highly recommend My K House for your Kyoto stay!

Our room was beautiful, modern and clean. Lovely view of the river from our spacious balcony. The beds were comfortable and room was quiet at night. Very convenient walk to many bus, subway, dining and shopping options. Only problem we had was using the dryer to dry some laundry, took 5 hours and still the jeans and 2 cotton tees were damp - needed better instructions in the welcome binder. Otherwise, a lovely hotel and wished we could stay longer, really enjoyed our stay! Alex in reception was also very friendly and efficient in checking us in and then escorting us to the actual hotel 2 mins away.

Amazing location for those seeking a little bit of true Japanese culture. The "Tourist" attractions are only a hike away and Kyoto Train station less than 20mins away. The staff are brilliant and help you anyway they can.

No information to visitor that there is no front desk in My K house. There is no lock on the room door. Only access control for the 1F lift lobby. However, the access control for the lift lobby was released manually in a whole day. Terrible. Seems like that there is no security for the hotel

Lovely hotel. I wish we booked longer in Kyoto to stay here. The location is great and the service was exceptional. We would highly recommend this hotel. The luggage hold service until 8pm is a great option to take up, as you can then roam one last day without lugging your suitcases around before leaving for another location in Japan

I absolutely adored my stay at My K House. I'm going to go over my (very few) minor issues off the bat because the rest of this review will be glowing. My safe was closed/locked when I arrived, and every time I bumped or moved it the alarm went off for about a minute, an annoyance but not a trip ruining experience. The WiFi was also very slow, almost unusable at times, on certain sites (like Google Maps). Last tiny gripe is that the heating zone is only in the main area so if you have the kitchen/bathroom slider shut it can get very cold in there in the winter. That all aside, this place was AMAZING. A fantastic mix of traditional Japanese lodging with western touches. Washer/Dryer combo in the room (dryer takes a bit but works), fantastic shower/bathroom with separate vanity and toilet. Tatami floors and very cozy. It backs out to a very quiet one way alley and sits over a very cozy bar on site. Check-in is down the road (1.5 or so blocks) but on check-in they walked me down and explained the property. Keyed entry for main/elevator/room for safety but the part of town it is couldn't be safer. Comfy beds, amazing Japanese style robes. I stayed 5 nights over Christmas and loved every one of them. Very walkable to two train stations, Nishiki Market, Gion, and a lot of Kyoto within 15-20 minutes. The only thing I'd note is that if you speak next to zero Japanese this is just off the main tourist areas and is more traditional, so learn some basic words to help a ton!

I stayed at My K House for three days on a work trip. It was exactly what I wanted: someplace to unwind at the end of the day, that felt like I was in Kyoto. The room was attractive and well-designed and I liked the balcony. It's maybe four blocks to the subway, but the bus to Kyoto station stops one block away. The street is quiet (see below) but there are plenty of restaurants nearby and you can walk to a major shopping area. The shower had amazing water pressure and there was a washing machine in the suite! Be aware that the rooms are modified tatami mat style, so there are elevated beds but no desk and no chairs except on the balcony. Some non-Japanese people might find this uncomfortable. Also, there was no one staffing the front desk at the time of my stay. Check-in is at a nearby hotel owned by the same people and then you let yourself in when you come and go, so it felt more like a vacation rental than a hotel. I was fine with that, but if you tend to rely on lobby staff for services and advice, then maybe stay at their other property. There is also no breakfast, so you'll want to stock the kitchen for those jet-lagged early mornings. My only complaint was -- surprisingly -- noise. And it's coming from the hotel. The lobby is essentially a bar, open in the evenings. The music is relatively quiet, but the front is open to the street and there were lots of loud conversations well past midnight. In the winter this probably wouldn't be as much of an issue.

Our unit 402 was very clean and well arranged. The unit seem to have had a recent upgrade. The rest room was the best of the three hotels we visited in Japan. The decore was a very pleasant modern asian. The view from the balcony was fabulous. I wish I could down load a picture for you!
