As a traveler with some experience of this quality of hotel I was surprised by the unfriendliness of staff. All business, no warmth, everything felt soulless. Did I want my towels changed in the morning? No explanation of sustainability practices, just questions. No bottled water in the room. Clean towels that had seen their day. Nothing to make a guest feel at home. Bare essentials. I doubled the duvet for warmth. Breakfast was average. Grateful to see fresh fruit. Where was the toaster? Didn’t have one! In 2024 this felt more like a hostel than an art hotel. Maybe Aachen has unique standards. This is a hotel I do not recommend if you are seeking convenience to train station, service staff warmth and the sense that you, not your payments, are top priority.

Terrible, please STAY AWAY. I arrived, walked into the lobby and saw two persons behind the reception and no clients around. I stood in front of the reception for about 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged my presence. When they stopped playing on their phones they finally greeted me, with a fake smile and immediately began screaming at us "Wear a face mask right now, NOW, or LEAVE!" Once I began speaking English their fake smile went away and you can hear in their voice that they were not happy to force themselves to speak English, the language of the world. I asked if there's an issue with COVID and they said YES, told us TWO of their staff members TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID a few days ago. We were asked for 4 forms of ID, including Passport, Drivers License, and 2 credit cards (not sure why), and a copy of my rental car registration (again - not sure why). The 2 rooms we ordered were not what was advertised. We ordered 2 Twin beds (or 2 Double Bed) per room but were given 1 Twin bed ONLY. When confronted, we were told "you'll take what we give you, and if you don't like it YOU CAN LEAVE". Once inside, the rooms, furniture, Television, Bath Room were old and outdated. The hot water did NOT work so we couldn't take a shower! The room heater made terrible noise, so much that we couldn't sleep half the night. The bed sheets were DIRTY, blood stains and some kind of protein stains! The pool was CLOSED, Breakfast was NOT replenished, and laundry machines broken. STAY AWAY!

We stayed here twice in two week on our way and way back from Germany. We stayed in 6 different hotels and this was definitely the best. Staff were nice and helpful, it was the only hotel to offer a restaurant in the evening. Great breakfast buffet. Free parking, free WiFi. Would stay again.

The room allocated to us was the worst hotel room I have ever seen. We didn't stay and had to find others room in city. The two staff on duties were however very very helpful and helped us find a different property.

Clean hotel which is near the motorway although you don't hear any road noise. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. Free parking at the hotel was full so had to pay €8 to park in their underground carpark or street parking is free. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment. Swimming pool and sauna is an extra charge (€9 and €2 for a locker).

A friendly hotel and while the on-site parking was expensive (15 Euros per night) at least my car and belongings were safe

Booked the hotel because it had free onsite parking so it was annoying (but clearly not their fault) that the road in front of the hotel was being resurfaced and we had to park on the street a short walk away. The stay was fine as it was a pit stop but I hadn’t realised it was a way outside Aachen historic centre so we didn’t see anything of the city. Somehow the name of the hotel suggested a design hotel which it definitely wasn’t - simply, each room was called after an artist And had a print on the wall. The staff was very helpful though and suggested a lovely restaurant close by - Ferbers - where we managed to get a table.

For the price it was a good stay. Simple and offered what was advertised. Could be a bit cleaner in corners and also we had some water difficulties in the bathroom. Would stay there again for a short trips. Is a lovely walk 25 min to old town.

We stayed in comfort double room, the room was good, completely new, probably just renovated. Everything was sparkling clean. I enjoyed the swimming pool and wellness area, it was nice and calm there. The breakfast was just great, you have everything you need and it's all good quality, tasty and fresh. The situation of the hotel is nice as well, not far to walk to the city center, but very quiet.

Marked spaces in the parking area would help since parking is limited. Breakfast buffet had a wide variety.

This hotel was at a good price and even better, we got a room upgrade on arrival which was very nice. We had good service from the lovely young lady at reception, who spoke very good English. The air conditioning worked well and the shower was good. There was parking in the back of the hotel area which was handy. We did find the Wifi to be a bit patchy but overall the room was very good value. We would stay here again.
