We stayed for one night during our vacation in early October. This charming small castle hotel is tucked away in a quiet forest. The host was very kind, and our stay was extremely comfortable. A light breakfast was included. I would love to come back again.

The castle is magnificent, nicely furnished and located on the vélo maritime. The hosts are very welcoming and funny. The breakfast is good with croissants, baguette, jams and butter and you take it together with the other guests, which allows to get to know them and their stories! The closest restaurant is 3km away (for the fellow bike riders 😂), but there is a kitchen in which you can cook your own food. I would definitely advise staying there!!

Chalet Du Bel Event is the ideal Normandy 'get away' - the location is miraculous. The property is nestled in the trees of the small village, La Chapelle sur Dun. It was said to be an old hunting lodge - one that encompasses country charm while preserving the delicacy of a sophisticated nod to rustic living. The house was full of remarkable antiques from the piano to the lamps. The room I stayed in (Irish) came with five massive sets of windows that overviewed three cardinal directions. They bathroom had both a shower and bathtub, the room was spacious with both a desk and bureau. The staff was very friendly, accommodating, and hospitable. Breakfast was served at 8:30 AM as stated. I would highly recommend staying at the Chalet Du Bel Event, I will surely be returning one day myself.

Me and my daughter were on a trip in Normandy last weekend and we were very lucky to be able to book a room here last. The host, Dan is very friendly and he speaks fluently English and French! Chalet Du Bel Event is a big, old charming house, I just love this kind of houses! The bed was good, nice sheets. The bathroom was maybe a little old, but I think that's just what you can expect in an old house... I will definitely come back here!

I was only there for one night but felt welcomed and I enjoyed it. Great building in a great place with nice and interesting people. Next time I'm in that part of France I'll be sure to try and stay here again. Many thanks to Bill and the folks there. We arrived late and left the next day on a tight schedule, but would have loved to stay longer.
