Absolutely horrific. The photos on Hotels.com are not representative of what you get when you arrive. The mattresses show the history of all the previous guests, complete with urine stains, as did the carpets, the place was crawling with bugs and bed bugs, the towels were covered in bugs, electrical sockets and lights hanging off and dangerous, a smashed window and smashed vents filled with dirt, and we couldn’t stay there. After much searching we ended up leaving and booked somewhere else to stay. This place is not fit to be called a hotel and is not fit for human habitation. The corridors odour was similar to that of toilets.

It is what it is... If you're looking for a cheap bed for the night to lay your head in a hotel with no facilities, smells slightly, hasn't been decorated since 1974, where all the lights in the room work off one switch... sometimes, and both taps pour hot water... Then you've cracked it! How it has managed to pass any kind of safety certificate, I will never know. But, we were staying in Scarborough for one night only for a gig in town, and to be fair, the bed was comfy and it did the trick for what we needed it for. As long as you do not book here expecting luxury, then you will get a cheap place to lay your head and move on. Although pitching your tent on the beach may be a cleaner option 😳

Well, it’s not the Ritz, the staff are friendly and helpful and the room itself was clean, except the carpet. The decor is out of date and a bit sad looking, but the room was nice with balcony doors opening onto the balcony, which is shared with other rooms, but nice place to sit overlooking the park during the day. Ensuite was clean and newish fixtures. Towels and bed linen were fresh and clean. Worst part was nighttime activity with junkies smoking and doing dope on the balcony until wee hours of the morning, with all the stinking smoke blowing into our room. Tried shutting the doors, but was way too hot and stuffy and made it worse, so one of us was up and down all night to open and shut the doors every time a junkie was lighting a spliff outside our door where the chairs were on the balcony. No thought for anyone else around. The stomping and slamming of doors all night in hallway was annoying but not as bad as the awful smoke smell. Really the owners should warn offenders that drugs should not be allowed in hotel or on property. The park across the road would have been a better place for them all to enjoy their disgusting habit. The place could be lovely with time and money spent on d3ocr and updates, and security to deal with druggists.

The hotel will have been lovely 40 years ago. Sadly it’s still the same decor Can’t fault cleanliness, but in need of overhaul. Beds must be the most uncomfortable I’ve ever slept on. Even beds I used to make underground were more comfortable

It's a budget hotel but you get what you pay for. It is old, dated and creaky - a bit like me. Yes, it needs renovation but our room was ok. The guy behind the desk showed us to the room and brought us an extra towel. Don't expect modern, luxury accommodation and you'll be ok

AVOID AVOID AVOID I booked this as single parent, taking my girls to stay over in Scarborough as a half term treat for a couple of nights. The photos on the site advertising it must be years old. It's desperately in need of improvement in all areas. The bedding was clean, but the carpets have seen better days. On our first day I had to find a local shop to buy toilet roll for the hotel room as not left any. On our first night, someone in the hotel was playing loud music intermittently until midnight. People clearly lived in this hotel from all backgrounds and walks of life. There was a child upstairs running around constantly until late. All different people wandering the corridors. On our second day we had no hot water. Second night a group of women arrived who were stood in the corridors and at 2am I had to go out into the corridor to ask them to be quiet having constantly waking my children as they were so loud. It was not pleasant with young children, and clearly this is not a 'holiday' location/hotel. There is no one on reception to manage anything or report anything to. The doors are always open and anyone coming and going. On the morning we were leaving the corridors smelt of cannabis. I would not recommend to anyone. I don't normally review or listen to reviews as I think I like to make my own mind up. But this was just awful.

No one on reception at check-in. No response on pressing the bell. Telephone call to given number was met with a promise to send someone. Was left waiting for quarter of an hour waiting for the receptionist to arrive, requiring a second telephone call. Receptionist stares into a key cabinet working out what keys to issue, before finally issuing a key. Generally the hotel was rather grotty and dilapidated, appearing to be more a HMO. Evidently the property a number of permanent or semi-permanent foreign residents, confirmed by a volume of post/mail seen at reception. Parking was also a nightmare.

We didn't expect anything other than basic for the price - we were looking for a cheap bed for the night whilst decorating a house. The bathroom floor is damaged and rotting, but more concerning is the broken towel rail, which my 8 year old cut his head on. I have tried to ring to let the Hotel owners know as the place was unmanned at check out but couldn't get an answer!

It was ok. The hotel will not suit everyone. The webpage is misleading. No pool, no games room, no bar no dining room. No lounge no conservatory access. My room was fine, it had four beds. All very basic. No heating, it was chilly for april. An electric vector heater provided. It had everything I needed. Kettle, hot water, shower, nice view. I reckon it is also transit accomodation for asylum seekers and/or refugees. Which was fine for me. No noise, in fact I saw very few people. No staff at all. It is beautiful hotel, a little run down, in a lovely location, next to a park. I would stay again. The Scarborough town cryier lives next door, lovely man. I read the reviews before booking so I knew what others have said. Carpark
