I stayed here for 5 days for Christmas 2025. Before I booked this I contacted the hotel to ask if they cater for gluten free, and would they have all traditional Christmas food available in gluten free. I was told there would be a separate menu, including Christmas food. Upon arrival I mentioned it again, unfortunately there was no separate menu I had to ask what was gluten free. It got worse as the time went on the Christmas dinner consisted of two wafer thin slices of turkey, roast potatoes, Brussels sprouts, a few nail size pieces of carrots & one very hard parsnip which I could not cut or eat. I sent it back to the kitchen, the replacement meal wasn’t much better. I never was offered saw any Christmas cake, let alone get offered any. The Christmas night buffet was another big disappointment all that was on the gluten free table was a choice of turkey & cranberry or cheese & pickle finger sandwiches, carrot cake which I had when I first arrived, chocolate cake, light fruit cake or mince pies. This to me is not a proper buffet. I decided to have the full English breakfast on Boxing Day, it arrived minus the sausage, but with two slices of bacon. I was not very pleased about this & went & spoke to the manager who said other people who weren’t gluten free had been given the gluten free sausages. If you are vegetarian you will have a great choice of food. If you are gluten free like me you will be very disappointed. Gluten free is a medical necessity and not a choice. The Christmas holiday was definitely not worth the money I paid. I would not recommend this hotel. I wonder if all the Daish hotels are the same.

We stayed here from 23rd to 27th of September. We had a warm welcome and given the keys to the room. When entering our room we were really pleased as it was a sea veiw room and had been recently refurbished to a really good standard. Our shower was large and extremely clean with paneling and tiled floor. The shower itself was very perfect too. The room was spacious with new windows and furniture. The dining experience was extremely satisfying too good quality food and mostly hot. Housekeeping was good too. After a poor experience earlier this year at Scarborough with daishes we were considering our options for future breaks . But if this is an ongoing refurbishment plan for all their homes and the food continues to improve like it had here we will continue to go with this company. Thank you to all the hard working staff for making our break special

We would like to have booked this hotel prince Regent but it always seems to be booked up we did go to the entertainment and bingo was ok it was warmer in this hotel compared with the Russell hotel dining and entertainment room, Maybe next time we come to Weymouth we can get into prince Regent. We have been booking with Daish's for about 14 years now and we have been to all Daish's hotels, I think we have been here 4-5 times.. Russell hotel, Bedroom was clean and towels and so was the bed sheets, All staff friendly enjoyed our stay thank you..

Just got back from a 4 night break here at the regent hotel, I took my dad away for a get away but walked into a room that is definitely in need of refurbishment, the wall paper was peeling off, the bathroom wasn’t very clean, but I must say the shower was great. There were blood on the bathroom door, grime in the shower, I informed the receptionist who said they will get someone in tomorrow to do a deep clean in the bathroom. Well when I returned from our day out the marks were still there, the next morning it was raining so we stayed in, a cleaner turned up I shown her what needed doing in the bathroom but when she lefted the grime was still there, I ended up cleaning it myself. They were blood marks on the duvet cover. The food well what can I say about that? The big breakfast was nice but cornflakes were stale. The porridge was lumpy, and not as it should be. The eggs Benedict was lovely. Dinner well the soup lacked flavour and we wasn’t able to eat it, first night was red pepper and tomoto soup, 2nd night was leek and potato 3rd night butternut squash soup and 4th night vegetable. Main dinners the meat was chewy for the older person, potatoes were hard, though the chicken pot pie was lovely and so was the fish cakes. The pork steak wasn’t steak it was two slices of bacon, what the 🤦‍♀️ Desserts the strawberry gateau was lovely, the sticky toffee pudding was dry, the treacle pudding like a roulade was dry and you couldn’t get a fork/ spoon or a knife through it, it was terrible even though we had custard on it. And the pear and rhubarb crumble, well all on our table was excited to have a crumble but it wasn’t a crumble, and it wasn’t tasty either, so what a let down. Sienna was a lovely girl that worked on the reception she was very good at first aid I kicked the bed lol and really hurt my big toe, it was bleeding, bruised and toe nail cracked, she did a really good job looking after me. The waiter Nelson was lovely, even though he really didn’t understand English. I think the owner needs to bring there family here for dinner or at least try the food that’s being made in the kitchen because a lot of it is really not edible, I would love the owner views on the food. First night here in the dining room a waiter came and asked us if we wanted a drink from the bar, I said to my dad on the 3rd night why did they only do that on our first night, but hold on they actually did it on our last night too. The first night the little bar was open, 2nd night it wasn’t there was No NOTICE to let us know to go to the ball room for drinks I at to ask at reception. And then when we did go in the ball room before dinner for a drink the bar staff wasn’t there but yet there was a few people sitting there with drinks, NO bell to ring to let them know we are waiting to be served. Forgot to mention our suitcases nearly went to the wrong room, my dad and I went to our room after being given the keys, we were in our room for sometime and still our suitcases hadn’t arrived so I went looking for them, there were some cases near the lift the big grey one looked like mine but it had 108 on it but my small hand luggage was there, so went downstairs to look for my suitcase but wasn’t there I went back up and had a look at that grey one to see it had my Name on the other side, so it nearly went to the wrong room. I went back to my room and had a shower, I heard someone knock at my door went to look and saw two cases there. They wasn’t mine. 5 mins later I heard people outside my door so I went to have a look they were looking for there suitcases which happened to be the ones they put outside my door. So from the minute we arrived things went from bad to worse.

Had a lovely stay but this hotel needs improvements. I understand that the food Is basic but some of the food was below standard. My Mom almost broke a tooth on a roast potato 😆 The lift takes 2 years to arrive, The floors are uneven and the shower takes a decade to get warm but apart from that we all had a good stay. The location is fantastic and the breakfasts weren’t too bad either!
