Food is excellent and beds are very comfy. It's old-fashioned in that it's a conversion of an older building, so windows are single-glazed and the doors open with actual keys. But the rooms have everything you'd expect from a professionally run establishment. Staff are all friendly and professional though you sometimes have to seek them out – hardly surprising as there are only six rooms so they can't have someone permanently on duty.

We loved our stay at this beautiful little inn. It's on a peaceful little road and the hotel was very quiet. We had a fantastic dinner and prices were very reasonable. Breakfast was also delicious. In addition, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

Room and hotel in general has hundreds of flies all over. Windows full of mould. Mattress was probably the most uncomfortable one I have ever slept on. Also the owner had a serious attitude problem. Was passive aggrrsssive and very false and fake. It’s a shame as the place is in a beautiful location. Just seems to enjoy getting drunk with friends and looked as though serving customers was getting in the way of their social gatherings. Very bizarre.

Enjoyed the cosiness and decor of the hotel and hospitality of the staff. The quality of the meals is really good and comes on a warmed dish. A very nice stay!

Loved the décor, comfort and furnishings in my room, topped off with a smart TV to make use of streaming apps after work during my week long stay. The staff are friendly and helpful, the bar and dining areas are also clean, serving decent food and drink at convenient times.

The second time we have visited Picton House and it didn't disappoint, it is beautifully presented, the owners and staff are really friendly and welcoming and the food is excellent! We'll be back!
