Good place to stay

in town walking distance to restaurants and bakeries.

This place smells awful. They have it written cause it’s due to the sulphur but I genuinely could not stand the smell. They need a vent in the washrooms. Do not recommend

Clean and comfortable. They had everything that we needed. And the location is superb with the waterfront walkable. Would definitely book again!

Many many people and using the common facilities and partying late nights and no supervision from any one. In small place 15 rooms and many people with different backgrounds

Simple accommodations at a good price

The property has 2 bathrooms but one is not working property the showers has like a timer and is very dangerous is or hot water very hot water or cool water.

Amenities are poorly.

The first thing you should know about the Mikligarður Guesthouse is it is owned by the Arctic Hotels. So, when you check in, you'll have to go Hotel Tindastoll first to get your keys. There is no breakfast in the guest house but you can eat at the hotel for a small fee. It's a cool building. There are nice places to congregate and a real kitchen if you want to cook.

I liked the bar services and discussion of off-site dinner availability.

Lovely place for an overnight in a lovely town -- loved having the well-stocked kitchen and being within walking distance to restaurants, bakery, etc. Shared bathroom was fine as well and the price was good (love being able to book a triple room!). My only minor issue is the amenities listed: "Outdoor pool access," "Sauna," "Terrace," in combination with the pic of the hot pools in the listing, suggest the amenities are affiliated with the property, which is not the case (didn't see a terrace at the property and am still not sure where those hot tubs in the pic are -- probably the town pool, which is not within walking distance?). That issue aside, very nice stay.

Room and amenities were as shown in the pictures. Check in was easy although in a another location. Staff was helpful with food recommendations. Guesthouse was clean and quiet and there were never any issues with sharing a bathroom. All in all, a pleasant stay.

The room we chose had it's own bathroom for privacy. Considering we stayed here during the COVID-19 crisis, that was a blessing. Our only complaints are as follows: The beds were separate from each other. It's easy to have issues with shower water spilling over into the restroom due to the design, which is common in most places we stayed in Iceland. I can't fault the room for this, since everything worked and there was plenty of hot water. The floor is flat and at a very slight angle, making it difficult to keep water from leaving the shower area. The sink is pretty small (also common in Iceland), making it difficult to refill your water container. Other than that, it was safe and quiet. It's all we needed.

The hotel is in a good location and is alright. What we didn't like is the fact that our room was close to the kitchen, and one family was cooking at all times, late at night, early in the morning, making a lot of noise and having no respect for the rest of the guests. I am sure we were not the only ones being annoyed by this :(

Clean, centrally located.

Although it did have a private bathroom, there was a bad odor in the bathroom whenever we left the door closed for a while. When we told the front desk about it, we were given a can of air freshener.

Incheckning på ett hotell avstånd ca 1 km, det framgick inte vid bokningen. Endast kallvatten i kranar - ej kul att duscha i kallt vatten! Strömbrytare i köket och hallen till lampor hängde lösa utan för hålen, med stora möjligheter till stöt vid användning! Bra säng, tyst, tv på rummet.
