On our arrival staff were very welcoming, and remained friendly and polite throughout.
We had an evening meal in the pub which was delicious and reasonably priced. If you want an evening meal here, I would recommend making a reservation as it was full and I heard staff having to turn people away.
If you’re looking for a modern hotel this is not the place for you, it’s a beautifully decorated olde world place that incorporates some of the mod cons of today’s world, I.e. WiFi, kettle and tv.
The room itself was very clean and comfortable and opened directly on to a shared courtyard with tables and chairs allocated to each room which is a pleasant place to sit and relax especially given we were in a heat wave when we visited. The direct access made life easier for us as we had our dog with us, so could take her for her walks without having to trudge through the hotel to do so.
The breakfast was tasty and freshly made, with a range of options available.
The only negative was someone was filling their van at 5.00am which woke us and people were chatting loudly outside at around 7.30. I don’t know if either of these were people from the hotel or from the neighbouring properties/motor home park that is located on the same plot.
Overall, we would recommend this hotel and will definitely stay again when travelling down south
