A MIXED review. Hotel Flaminia has a LOT going for it but some annoying things that with small changes could make this a GREAT hotel.
Not being picky - JUST constructive criticism.
Starting with the ’s. Breakfast included - superb. Great selection, plentiful, excellent coffee, lovely fruit toast! FRIENDLY staff. Helpful girl at the bar working so hard. Lovely location central for sights and Spa! Booked 2 identical COMFORT DOUBLE rooms for a 3 night stay as part of a tour of Italy. My niece and partner were given an annexe room with a lake view, coffee making facilities and space. Fantastic.
My husband and I were given a smaller annexe room, overlooking the alleyway joining the main hotel. OK, however, very noisy. 2 out of 3 nights woken at 5am with deliveries/ bin collection. I know they need to be done so better windows would help. NO hot water for shower for 2/3 mornings. Not acceptable.
No stand to open our case, so bed or the limited floor space while a redundant ‘just too’ small. alcove houses just a phone?? Poor design. A bistro table and 2 chairs in the way of the aisle/bathroom door. Reconfiguration with the TV would have stopped tripping over them at night. Bedside lamps so high no reading without keeping the other person awake! No hot drink facilities (a must for a British tea addict!) yet in the other room? Asked reception about difference in room. No real explanation for disparity. Offered a new room €900!! Asked for a kettle, was provided but no cups!
