Beautiful property, centrally located for exploring. Beautiful rooms, incredibly tidy and clean, breakfast options were massive and the staff were friendly, helpful and inviting.

Phenomenal stay. Booked last minute having never been to Lugano or really knowing anything about the city. Lucked out by staying at this amazing hotel. Room was perfect. Staff were absolutely lovely and kind and helpful. Patio drinks were so good. Self service bar is a great idea. Location cannot be beat if you are traveling by train since it is only a short walk from and to the station. We loved our stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Gorgeous views from this lake front property! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Very nice breakfast included. Balcony was perfect to take in the views. Would definitely stay again!

Lovely hotel in spectacular location on lake Lugano. Art center, historic sites, restaurants, and shopping within easy walking distance. Hotel breakfast, pool, and common areas were exceptional and staff were super helpful and friendly.

Unfortunately we only stayed at this beautiful hotel for 1 night. The Hotel is conveniently located on the tip of the plaza and across the road from the lake. There are many restaurants within walking distance. Our room was very clean and the bed comfortable however, the pillows were very soft. Breakfast was fantastic with a wide selection.

It seems to be a very old hotel, but very classic. The outlook, public area and dining area are well maintained. I’d suggest that the room needs to be renovated as it looks a bit shabby.

We enjoyed staying at International au Lac Historic Lakeside Hotel. It is a good mix of old-style hotel with antiques with modern convenances and upgraded rooms. The location is very convenient at the lakeside end of Lugano’s upscale shopping street (Via Nessa) and just a short walk to the main square Piazza Riforma and lakeside Promenade. The breakfast is very nice served in an elegant room with efficient wait staff. They give you a Ticino Ticket to use for free transportation and discounts on some attractions. The bathtub is wonderful for a soak after a day of exploring. The staff is helpful answering questions to make your stay in Lugano enjoyable. There is good Internet and a nice pool and beautiful garden area for getting some sun. Families with kids will enjoy the play area.
