Castel Rundegg is an old fashioned hotel in the very best sense. It is a beautiful building in a most beautiful town, with comfortable public areas and spacious well appointed bedrooms. Those who are looking for discos and fast food options might choose elsewhere, but it does offer superb cuisine, stunning gardens and an old world elegance. It also boasts extensive pool, sauna and spa treatments. We look forward to returning there.

It is a very pretty hotel. The staff were very nice, helpful and kind. It is well located so that you can walk to the old town centre. I enjoyed my stay there. Two things I would say: start cleaning the rooms later in the morning as I woke up nearly every morning (7:15-7:30 am) at the sound of the vacuum cleaner and parking should probably be free. Great place overall.

This was the last 3 days of a 10-day vacation in Europe and on a cruise of The Mediterranean. We wanted a more relaxing end to our trip and Castel Rundegg was perfect. The location - Merano and the hotel were just what we expected and we weren't disappointed. Plus, David and Sonja treated us with classic European hospitality. If anybody is planning a trip to Italy, my wife and I strongly recommend their considering Castel Rundegg!

Castel Rundegg is an outstanding hotel, full of character, very large and lovely rooms, exceptionally helpful staff and in a beautiful setting. It is something of a walk to the city centre but a beautiful walk, mostly along the river, on either of the winter or summer promenade.

We had a wonderful time at the Castelo. It was staffed with very friendly people who went out of their way to make you feel welcome. The hotel is also within easy walking distance to the town center. The food was fabulous.

Not sure really what to say. room 45 was in the building opposite the main building, was very nice size, with a large bathroom, but the worlds smallest TV. The A/C was not great either. One of the curtains was also missing. On arrival at the hotel we were just taken to the room given our key and left alone, no great welcome. At breakfast, we were virtually ignored, whilst all the German speaking guests were fussed around. Do not let the quirkiness of this hotel put you off though. Would stay again.

In approximately 25 years of travelling the world on both business and pleasure, our stay at the Castel Rundegg would have to rate amongst the most enjoyable stays anywhere. The place itself is enchanting with great character, facilities and beautiful gardens and every single one of the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Highly recommended to all.

Hotel bello. Servizio all'altezza. Tutto bene ma la camera, pur spaziosa, necessita di rinnovamento.
