We stayed one night. Room was clean. Staff were friendly. Room was small but for only one night it was all we needed.

The property is old. The elevator only fits one person. The parking is open with no security but you have to pay it. And to use the air conditioner you have to pay extra 3500 HUF. During my stay the hotel went out off water so I had to leave early. I do not recommend this hotel to anybody.

The Minhotel Kristaly may have an excellent spa center; we did not have the occasion to find out. Our room, however, was spartan. This might be acceptable, but the futon-style bed was lumpy, its bedspread torn and ragged. On the plus side, the heating radiator is not strong enough to overheat the room: turned to maximum, it had the room at 68 degrees F (20 C) when the air outside was about 30 F (-1 C). I'm not sure how it would do in midwinter. The bathroom was adequate but tiny (a positive spin would say it represents highly efficient use of space, but in truth it is very cramped). Lighting was dim; the ceiling light was only somewhat stronger than a night-light, and the small bedside lamps with their dark shades barely provided enough light for reading in bed. There was no table lamp on the desk, nor any floor lamp. The brightest spot in the room was in the room's entryway (which represented an inefficient use of space between bedroom and bathroom). Breakfast was mediocre; surely they can find better-quality bread and rolls without cutting into profit margin. The staff were unfailingly friendly. Perhaps the spa justifies a three-star classification; the rooms alone do not (assuming most are like ours). I would not choose to return at the price we paid, but would look elsewhere in Keszthely.
