Great view, that should be the only thing you book this for. Don’t count on out of this world food. In fact, I would say it’s well below average, especially for the price point at dinner. The cocktails are very good; I recommend the Viking Mule. Overall, 10/10 views and cocktails, 4/10 on everything else. Well worth one night though.

Rooms did not have proper curtains. They were not blackout at all and one of the curtain was missing.

The location was a bit of a ways away from the main hub/lake in Voss, maybe twenty five minutes, but that was no problem because of the stunning views the property, which is up on a mountain, afforded. The Stalheimskleivi Road, a steep path and hiking trail along a mountainside with views of waterfalls and greenery, is right behind the hotel, and it's quite the tourist attraction. The hiking going down was awesome. Coming back up took a lot of energy. lol. There are pastures with sheep nearby. We had a double room and it was no frills: no tv, no coffee machine, no microwave, just basically a bed and bathroom. The hotel is quite old and could use some renovations. You're basically paying for the awesome views and the relative seclusion. Oh, and the breakfast offered a nice variety-- sausage, bacon, eggs, paté, pastries, different breads. Their bar served us until 11pm, We only stayed for one night, so the no frills room was fine.

You sure paying $$$ for the view really. Dinner buffet was good. Staff is XLNT. But definitely outdated fixtures and it shows. Will stay again, but during low season.

Anyone would be hard-pressed to find a hotel with a better view. It's just breathtaking! The hotel was gorgeous and historical. My only feedback would be that the rooms need some modernization.

The view is spectacular! Historic museum was amazing, and the grounds are truly incredible. The rooms are very dated and basic. No amenities, no frills. Staff is lovely and the head mousekeeper (hotel kitty) is a delight! Stay for the view!

We will never forget our experience at the Stalheim Hotel. It is old world and wonderful! Walking into the room was like walking back in time. The colors, the fabrics, the furniture, and the bathroom were from another era. The beds were very cozy and comfortable. The view from our window was breathtaking. It was hard to pull ourselves away from looking out over the amazing mountains and valley below. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast in the large dining room. They offer a very large choice of delicious foods at the dinner buffet and at breakfast. The hotel also has a very nice shop which sells good quality clothing, lovely gifts, and souvenirs.

The view is outstanding and the hotel and lobby are beautiful. The antiques are wonderful and the museum tour was fabulous! Great food. We took the short King’s Road hike and it was fabulous! Connections to and from the hotel are well- coordinated however the 11:55 bus to catch the 1:05 Voss to Oslo train was too tight for comfort however we made it with 30 seconds to spare.

Amazing location overlooking valleys and mountains. Tour groups pour through nonstop. Was a grand hotel 100 years ago. However it has not been updated since then. Good for 1 nite.

The hotel rooms are a bit dated but the location is amazing with beautiful views. Make sure you walk the closed Stalheimsklevia road just outside the hotel.

Amazing overnight stay at the Stalheim Hotel as a mid-point for our Norway-in-a-Nutshell tour. We absolutely loved the historic hotel. The lobby areas are wonderful for hanging out. Great service at the bar (as well as front desk and restaurant). We fell in love with the surrounding area - doing the hike to Nali and down the Stalheimskleiva winding road. Despite the age of the hotel, the rooms were very comfortable with nice showers and unbelievable views!
