We had hopes for Cavery Beach Hotel, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. The whole hotel seemed abandoned and the owners seemed very surprised when we arrived (a group of 8 people) even though we had a booking several days before. When we arrived, we were told that the room we’d originally booked wasn’t available due to some water damage, which had caused part of the ceiling to collapse. The owner explained it was a recent issue. The room we were given instead was not in good shape. It felt damp, and there was a noticeable musty smell throughout, with some visible mold in the hotel rooms. The whole place had an uncomfortable, moist feeling. After about an hour, we decided to book somewhere else. It just wasn’t what we were hoping for.
