This is one of the cleanest, most comfortable and superb budget hostel during my stay in Kota Kinabalu. The room is spacious, clean and I can guarantee that you will be happy with its spring mattress. The shared shower rooms and toilets are maintained clean most of the time, the water pressure from the water heater is also fine. You have to remove your shoes when you check in this hostel- this is reasonable I think because most of their guests will bring sand stains and dirts after snorkelling activity. The breakfast offered was basic one with free flow coffee, sandwich bread, jam and butter, and eggs but it really worth for your money. The location is perfect too. It's a walking distance to eateries, nearby seafood restaurants, supermarket, convenient and souvenir stores, and The Gaya Street Market held on every Sunday also is only downstairs. All the staffs especially Mr Sylvester (the supervior/owner I guessed) are helpful, resourceful and friendly too. So, if you're looking for a budget hotel in Kota Kinabalu, don't hesitate to book this Red Palm Hostel. I will definitely book this hotel again in the future for my trip. For the hotel management kudos for your hospitality and superb services!
