The first time I visited Batu Pahat (BP) well over a decade ago, I stayed at The Katerina. While I have returned to BP a few times since then, either staying at other hotels in BP or just passing through, this was only my 2nd stay at The Katerina.
The parking area was just I remembered. I couldn't remember how the lobby or room looked like then, but hotel lobby now has a whiff of grandeur with a bit of age mixed in.
The room has a central panel on the side table between the beds that controls all the light switches except the bathroom's. After a good 5 minutes of exploration, I found it at the key card slot, as shown in the photo. There's a bathtub and an old-fashion shower head. The desired water temperature gushes out of the shower head within 2 seconds.
The breakfast spread is decent at best and all too soon, it's time to check out and join the rat race again.
