I stayed at Kupu Kupu hotel for two nights. The staff were incredibly friendly and we had a nice welcome with a lovely complinentary dessert and drink; However a few things really influenced the comfort of our stay:- I booked a double room, and expected the bed to be a double mattress, but no-it was twin mattresses that were combined to make one bed!- The main lights were right on your face when you lie down, so it gets too bright, but when this is turned off, the side lamps are too dark.- The toilet doesn't have a bidet which is very unusual in Indonesia.- The breakfast buffet is quite limited. Also fair warning to other travelers, I feel the name is quite misleading as it makes us think it 's related to or owned by l'occitane but it seems that the hotel itself is not connected to l'occitane at all. The location is good though, and the staff 's friendliness and warm service really improved our experience there.

The hotel is in great location, there are quite a lot of store nearby (including Starbucks!). The room is also great, even though they need a renovation here and there, but overall the room is good. The main highlight staying here is the hospitality of their staff, my goodness, their hospitality and their service is a top notch! From the front desk, restaurant to the room service! Not forget to mention, their food is also hella great! Will definitely back when I'm around!

The staff hospitality was great. We tried breakfast on the beach the first day and in house breakfast. The hotel have a big problems in term of maintenance as they looked abandon. Most room are boarded up and close. When we arrived, the elevator didn't work so we have to walk to our room which located on the top floor. Rats in the lobby, no pest control program in place. Rusty glass hand rail over hanging outside breakfast area, looks like it will fall down anytime soon. All outside wall decoration has removed and most alarming, the hot water is not hot, big risk of legionnaires disease. What other health and safety programs has been abandon, fire safety, food hygiene safety? We do not know?

As we know in the website this hotel is 5 star hotel. So we expecting to have a 5 star experience. But so sad, the hotel is not well maintain. The furniture is too old, The lift to go up from lobby are the most scary way to pass. It like the way for workers. we walk around the hotels and I don't feel I am in 5 star hotel ambience. The hot water in bathtub is not working and leaking also. and frankly we are a traveller and like to stay in 5 star hotel. For the price they charge, I would like to choose for other hotel which is not far from this hotel. Totally different! maybe this hotel selling for discount 35 % to enjoy the l’occitane spa. But again. Not everyone would go to spa. We want stay and enjoy the 5 star facilities. last but no least, the most important is breakfast is very bad! when we are check in we ask if the breakfast serve in buffet? And they said yes breakfast serve in buffet but they serve ala carte. I chose late breakfast, and it's mention in the menu I get fruit platter. But in real they don't give it. And I ask where is the fruit? They said for the late breakfast no fruit platter (check the menu guys). as 5 star hotel. No matter how much guest you have you have to serve breakfast in buffet. That's the standard of 5 star hotel. I have been to so many 5 star hotel. And i love to say this hotel is the worst 5 star Hotel in bali. However, the staff is quite friendly.
